Another huge complaint of mine was also addressed. You shouldn't run out of ammo ever if my first 4 hours is any indication of how the ammo will be distributed. I literally had to quit Resident Evil Zero because I got to a part where I had to kill a bunch of crows and only had 6 bullets left. I literally could not advance any further.
There is also a traveling merchant that will pop up here and there to buy and sell with. I wondered early on why I was getting money when monsters died and I soon found out that not only will you find better weapons as you progress through the game...you can buy them as well.
The atmosphere is perfect. You will be walking quietly at one point only to have the silence broken with a blood curdling scream from one of the bad guys as he buries a hatchet in your skull. I tell you, when these guys spot you, point at you and yell, it will make you piss your pants.
The premise of the game is you are an agent hired to locate the president's young daughter who has been kidnapped by some sort of religious cult. Though these guys are human, they are crazed and probably scarier than any zombie that has been in the previous Resident Evil games. They wll run at you and run from you and double back on you later. A little while ago, I walked up on a guy on a pier. He spotted me, raised his arm in the air and yelled something, and then disappeared into the water. A minute later, he popped up out of the water and da*n near made me scream like a little girl.
This game is great fun and actually doesn't feel as frustratingly hard as the previous Resident Evil games. That's certainly a good thing as the difficulty of the last two on the Gamecube has been downright insane. The game supports progressive scan and Dolby Pro Logic II and I'll have to say it's the best looking Gamecube title to date. The sound is awesome too. If you're a fan of the series, then this game is an absolute must have. It really is a must have for anyone that owns a Gamecube.
