Links 2004 Tour?

Post by HipE »

Maybe for the tour we should all play with equal characters. We could all create a golfer with 7 overall points, which is how many you have after finishing the tutorial. This would keep the game more challenging over the course of a season.
Leebo, it ain´t uncommon at all for me to post a +14. There seems to be more than enough "O.B." territory out there willing to claim my ball - and I´m more than able to oblige!

Did the invitation come via Clone Wars? I´m not sure how that works. My son may have been playing Clone Wars when it was sent (not sure) and that´s why it has the Clone Wars bit attached to it. When you create a friends list, is that list game specific? Pardon my noobiness here...

I would be interested as well if it hasn´t started already. I just got the game today and haven´t even checked it out yet.

Guys,

I was just about to take back Crimson Skies and a couple other games to pick up Links when I saw the issue about character stats and online play. This is the one issue that really bothers me about this game.

Online play should be all about the player´s skill, not how much time he´s put into maxing out his character. Why can´t they just equalize everyone´s stats for online play and leave the RPG type stat boosting to the single player game. I don´t want to have to keep going back and creating new characters for online play because "this" tournament prefers maxed players, "that" tournament prefers players just out of the tutorial, and "that other" tournament wants players somewhere in the middle. Arrrggghhhh!

Now, keep in mind I haven´t played the game yet and maybe I´m making too big of a deal about it. But If I win or lose a tournament I want to know it was because of my mad skills (or lack thereof) rather than because of the amount of time I invested in single player.

So, any thoughts?

Mix,

I agree. I don´t like it at all. However, I wouldn´t let it stop you from purchasing the game. I´d put it on my short list of console sports game of the year.

I´d love to participate in the tour, but with my upcoming move I will be offline for gaming for at least a month, I´d expect.

Since a Links Tour won´t rely as heavily on scheduling, etc. ... would it be possible to be in the tour, even though I´ll be missing events in Late December/Early January?

Yeah I would imagine you can join fossen. You´ll just miss the first few events, no big deal. We all know Big Bertha EA will likely take the money title... we´re fighting for 2nd place I think.
