anyone use classic pitching? wondering how it was after the last patch?

I'm talking baseball 101. I think Abner's blog does a good job to point out some of the same things I'm seeing.

The pitchers are defensive gold glove winners. I'm tired of seeing bunts getting picked up by the pitchers who palm the ball and threw to 2nd.

this damn glitch where it asks you if you want to save changes to your sliders when you first load them up is annoying.

What is this glitch? I noticed there were changes to what I thought I had in there when I went to make an adjustment.

what happens to me (not every time) is I load the game up ...

I'm running out of slider room. After I posted last night, I went up to legend defaults for hitting, and then reduced them even more (20 contact, 20 power, 25 batter influence) and hit 11 hrs. Abreu hit 4 and Arod 3. Does anyone know how step influence actually works? As you go through the default ...

I think the picture quality is amazing. Especially in King Kong. I think the type of tv you have plays a big part in how it's going to look. I have a 1080p tv and I was in awe watching King Kong. It was clearer than anything I have ever watched on tv in HD.

The other issue is RF support. I'm getting used to the RF on the Direct TV HR20-700 DVR.

Not sure I want to pay for an 890 though. But it's ridiculous, I'm juggling 4 remotes regularly.

Still, I really wonder if a universal remote would let me change the zooming or the Twin View ...

So the Harmony site lets you set up the discrete codes easily?

Because a couple of years ago, it sounded like some Easter egg or some quasi-hack you had to do.

Yes. It's a drop down menu and you just select the input you want the tv to go to when watching tv / dvd etc.

Do these remotes do a better job of supporting discrete codes?

Like for instance, you have a TV with more than 4 inputs and you're switching between them all the time.

Last time I looked around, Harmony may or may not have had discrete codes for my TV.

yeah, I like the URC's too. I have a Pronto tsu3500 that I used to use. But I started using the Logitech due to how easy they are to setup. Plus they are wife friendly. No more calls at work from my wife saying "the dvd player isn't coming on"

They all "claim" they are for PVR users...but just from a functionality standpoint, and a logical standpoint (funny since their name is Logitech), they don't make sense at all. Usually you put ff on the right and rw on the left with play in the middle because those are the three you use the most ...

That 670 looks pretty sweet, but I do not like the layout of the pvr controls. That's atrocious. That's the one thing Harmony can't do to save their lives...

the remote is actually designed for PVR users. They work quite nicely. All the controls are right where your thumb rests on the remote. :D

I have the 670. It just came out. I don't like the buttons on the 880. Too close together.

I looked into that myself. Apparently it won't work with the .z36 files that all the rosters are in. I ended up just buying the Datel and a mem card since all I need this stuff for is rosters.

I am undecided about this game. The previous two Maddens were great games but didn't have that "fun factor" for me. ESPN is fun to play and I am enjoying every minute of it. I'm in the same boat as JROD, I'll wait to see what Bill says.

I saw one view on a screen shot that just showed from the hood up, is that the view you are talking about?? Then I saw another which showed a view from inside the car, is that a playable view?

I loved MM. When I first played 2k3, I hated it. Just keep playing it and it will grow on you. Read the manual about the special shots and how to do a spin move. Go to the practice mode and practice shooting. Now, I like it better than MM.

cool. I wonder if you were to mess with the sliders, it would make you shoot more mid range shots? Or if the CPU has an offensive awareness slider, they won´t pass up as many open shots? Just a thought. Thanks for all the info.
