New Madden 360 Vid

Wow. This looks absolutely incredible. Crowds, players, animations... and everything is sharp and clean.

I'm not sure if I'll get a 360 at launch (no money for one), but I'll be wanting one badly.

I'm guess I've reached the jaded point. I've yet to see a Madden video that has blown me away. Always looks like a somewhat reved up version of what I've seen for years on the Xbox.

Thanks for the link.

I'm actually excited to get my hands on this now. I'm sure a select group of people still wont be impressed, but can't make everyone happy.

Funny. I was gonna say a statement roughly the opposite of that. :)

Outside of a few exceptions though I think the launch is pretty lame but then I've beaten that horse to death.

Well until now I haven't seen any Madden 360 videos to get me going. Still waiting for some actual gameplay videos of a finished product. But I did like the animations I did see in that video, and the graphics look very good.

As for the 360 launch, I was not going to buy one at launch, but when ur getting one for free what can you do? :)

Yeah no as far as getting one for free you can't beat that price.

No way on Earth I would purchase one myself at launch except for work related reasons which will draw my hand. Too much cost for too little bang. Maybe come Halo 3 time we'll see something that's closer to a true next gen title.

Color me very impressed. The lighting effects, the player models, the level of detail on the field and the animations all look absolutely amazing. I'm very impressed with everything I've been seeing lately from both Madden and NBA Live. FIFA looks more or less like FIFA with better cut scenes, but the other two games are really a quantum leap forward in the visuals department.

Why exactly are you, Boom and a guy I can't quote so damn concerned with what a "select group" thinks?

F'ing clockwork. EA thread. Same people would rather discuss what others think then what they just wathced. At least "they" are contributing by discussion what they saw in the video. Why not counter reeche by talking about things that have you so damn excited about the game first. Other then the fact you are getting one free. We get that, as you have mentioned it a few times already.

Still waiting for some in game videos myself. The only video showing extended gameplay was on Xboxyde and EA had them pull it down.

This sure doesn't match the leap from PS1 to PS2. That made me want to run out and get a PS2. This doesn't do the same for me.

Why do you care what we are concerned with? Last time I looked, you waste no energy concerning yourself with what other people think, especially about EA and the 360 titles. Is it not okay to comment on a post that someone makes in which they criticize what they have seen, but offer no tangible reasons?
bdoughty wrote:F'ing clockwork. EA thread.
Whatsa matter? Piss you off that some people are actually liking what they see? You certainly waste no opportunity labelling me as biased when it is brutally apparent that your bias against EA and those who like what they see is manifesting itself in yet another EA thread.
bdoughty wrote:Same people would rather discuss what others think then what they just wathced.
And you are NEVER guilty of doing the same, are you?

My response was exactly as it was stated. I can't believe that some are not seeing a significant difference between versions. Sorry if that way of thinking doesn't appeal to you, but that is MY opinion.
bdoughty wrote:Still waiting for some in game videos myself. The only video showing extended gameplay was on Xboxyde and EA had them pull it down.
Gosh, I thought those were. If not, I am still impressed at this point. Again, sorry if that bothers you.

What's really funny is that you guys are basing all of these "impressions" on 640x480 video, streamed over the internet, compressed as hell.

Wait until you start seeing live videos on a HD monitor somewhere before you can say that the jump from PS1 - PS2 was bigger. While I do agree that the jump won't be that big, it's still going to be pretty damn significant when run in the right conditions. The whole internet streaming and mpg compression thing is just ruining the experience I think.

So, according to that interview, EA/Tiburon needed to wait until next gen to be able to add a "dive over the pile" animation. Guess we'll have to wait for the next, next gen for them to be able to add in some gang tackling.

The TD celebrations look very nice, if you care about that sort of thing. Still no way to tell whether Mario Running, Suction Blocking and some of Tiburon's other trademarked features are in this year. Heinz Field does look nice though.

EXCELLENT point! Seeing the Xbox 360 at Walmart in HD really made me feel like, "I need this now".

Not in all cases. Many of the Madden videos hosted at XBOXyde were in HD quality at the same resolution as you would have on your TV. The one EA had taken down was in 720P and I thought certain aspects were coming along nicely graphically.

Finally watched it and I'd have to say the game really looks "alive" it's great to see everything on the screen moving like it does and with that much detail.

I'm getting closer to getting an Xbox 360. :)

bd,
I'm really not concerned man. I guess my last response was just a poor attempt at humor.

I really do not concern myself with what other people think when it comes to video games. I just know that I'm in a very small group of people that has the capacity to enjoy football games from more than one company. I really do not choose sides. I'd even go so far as to say that there is probably nobody here at dsp who has played a combined total more games than me of Madden 2005 and ESPN NFL 2K5, especially online. I enjoyed both, and know each game did some things better than the other.

There's no fanboy in me here. Just a lower set of standards and lower expectations. I know that and am perfectly fine with it.

I'm pretty much the same. I don't think there's been a football game released for a console since the PS1 released that I haven't played. I can find something to like about any football game but the only ones that have truly wowed me were NFL 2k5, NFL Gameday 98 (for it's time), NFL 2k (for it's time), and Madden 2006. It's no secret that I've been impressed with the 360 Madden footage out there and I can't wait to get my hands on it in 3 weeks.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Fair enough... I guess some think I have a bias against EA which is untrue. I play NCAA 06 nightly and have 3 dynasties and one RFTH going right now. I doubt anyone at DSP has played NCAA 06 as much as I have offline. The only two games I play on a regular basis are NCAA 06 and NFL 2K5 and NCAA gets the most time. So if I am biased agianst EA I am doing a pretty piss poor job of it.

Wow, who pissed in your cornflakes?

Hmm lets see, I have stated in all the past threads i have not been excited, I said in this one that the animations and graphics looked good and that is what I liked but I was waiting for actual game play video of a finished product. I also just anwsered his question about getting a launch Xbox.

As for the clockwork thing, you really need to look in the mirror.

Well isn't that the point, we can only comment on what we have seen. What i just saw where new animations and bettr graphics that all looked good.

Gang Tackling, haven't seen it. My guess not in. So yes that would suck

Marrio Running and sunction blocking, haven't seen gameplay footage yet, if this isn't gone then that is major suckage.

Bottom line is GT, I can only comment on what I have seen, until this point nothing looked that good. Now it looks good, how it plays is another question. I mean you can take home a super model, if she doesn't suck a good dick who cares?

I don't disagree at all, Dan. I like what I see, but right now, there's a lot more "unseen" that concerns me based on Tiburon's track history. If those things (Mario Running and Suction Blocking) are gone and Gang Tackling is in, I'll definitely pick this one up since I could care less about the things that are missing (owner mode, create a fan, etc.). I'd definitely miss CAP but that alone wouldn't be enough to keep me from picking up the game.

If Mario Running and the rest of the stuff still hasn't been fixed, though, I'll probably piss a few people off because I will continue to b*tch and moan.
