OT: Your NFL MVP after five weeks

OK, boys, who´s your NFL MVP after five weeks?
 
 It´s a dead heat between Stephen Davis of Carolina and Peyton Manning of Indianapolis for me.
 
 Davis has given Carolina the dependable, ball-control rusher needed to be a contender, and Manning has been superb in the Colts´ 5-0 start.
 
 Sorry, but I can´t give Dante Hall of Kansas City consideration. Yes, he´s been spectacular, but I think the MVP should be given to an every-down player, not a special-teamer.
 
 If a special-teamer should get MVP consideration, then why wasn´t Gary Anderson the NFL MVP the year he didn´t miss a field goal for Minnesota? He did his job flawlessly all season, and that´s an MVP if there ever was one.
 
 P.S.: Coach of the Year is Parcells in Dallas, no contest.

Steve McNair is my choice for MVP. He is completing 64% of his passes, has 8 TD passes and only 2 picks, and has a couple rushing TDs. It´s not like he has Harrison or Moss to throw to either and Tennessee´s running game is pretty pathetic as well.
 
 I´m not sure where the Titans would be without him.

 I forgot about McNair. Very solid pick, although I still side with Davis and Manning. But McNair also is having a fine, fine season.

I think if there´s a toss up it should go to the running back.
 
 It´s much harder to run with a decent line than it is to play pitch and catch with a great receiver.
 
 Plus the Colts should have a good record, no one expect the panthers.

 Dante Hall..he´s won at least 2 games for the chiefs, on his jack.
 
 Davis is a close second.
 
 McNair ? Good player, but aren´t the Titans 2-2 ?
 
 Parcells Coach of the Year ?????
 
 3-1, and he´s beaten....
 
 Jets
 Cardinals
 Giants
 
 The first two are among the worst teams ever to grace the NFL this year, and he was lucky to beat the Giants...some well dodgy calls.
 
 The real Coach of the Year ?
 
 Marvellous Marvin. We´d have beaten the Bills if Dillon had been fit (having to kick an FG after 3rd &2 at the Bills 12), or Burris had been in. Unlucky to lose to the Raiders too.

Stephen Davis no doubt! He has performed well every week.
 
 I saw Peyton play a crappy game against the Browns in week 1. He´s to inconsistent <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_wink.gif">
 
 Seriously though my pick is Stephen Davis. Peyton Manning is running a close second and Randy Moss has bolted into third.

 Quite right. I really like McNair, but it is fair to say that the Titans have lost to the only 2 decent teams they have faced, in the Colts and Pats.

I´d say Peyton, but Moss is makin a bid. 5 TD´s in last 2 games. If he can keep that up.. man, he could have some nice numbers.

well Stephen Davis standsout the most for me as he was obviously what the Panthers needed to go to another level
 
 his performances have defined MVP
 
 i feel same way about daunte hall as PK does , but he sure is a helluva alot of fun to watch
 
 besides if i were to pick a special teams guy in this league as of today besides daunte

 as peyton said seems to have lit a fire under manning and the rest of the team....along with dungys cover 2 and addition of dallas clark which brought back a true 2 TE offense for them
 
 VANDERJAGT has been as valuable as any kicker since gary andersons magical season
 
 not only perfect fg record
 
 but his onside kick last night and game winning field goal were as important as anything else last night
 
 and as a Bucs fan it pains me to admit this

Peyton Manning.
 
 I hate how everyone rips on the guy for his lack of playoff wins when he lost one as a youngster and couldn´t do anything agianst the Jets because he had no running back.
 
 What does he do? He comes back strong and leads the Colts to an undefeated record, proving the "haters" wrong. Peyton´s my favorite NFL player because no one respects him as one of the top QBs in the game. Surprising since I hate Vols.

Off hand, I was thinking Moss. I know he´s keeping me alive in fantasty football.
 
 After watching Peyton Manning on MNF, he´s my vote thus far. He could have went in the tank early on in that game, but he kept his head and brought the Colts back. He´s really matured this year.

I think their should a new category, Biggest Impact Player and that would definately go to Dante Hall.
 
 But if MVP is about what player is making his team win and if they lsot him would be compeltely lost. Stephen Davis.
 
 Manning is the same Quaterback he was last year. He´s a great quarterback but the MVP for that team isn´t the QB is the defense and Tony Dungee.
 
 Carolina wouldn´t have a record like this if it wasn´t for Davis.

My vote would go to Steve McNair, although it´s tough to not give Stephen Davis the vote. That guy is a horse.
