I'd like to get a new video card for my new gaming computer (P4 3GHZ) and would like to get the best bang for under $200. I don't play at ultra high resolutions and with everything turned on. Just looking to get the best performance for the price. Thanks.

ASUS X700 Pro (ATI)
Either that or some version of the Nvidia 6600 GT (I'm partial to ATI though)...either one will work great for under 200.

Correct...you need to disable the onboard graphics chip in the Bios...when you start up your computer, you should see a screen that says "hit del to enter bios." After you do that, you should see a setting in the menu somewhere (Probably under Integrated Peripherals) and disable it. Then you put in the new card (in the PCI-Ex slot obviously) and you should be good to go. Windows will boot up, install the drivers from the cd, and you should be golden.redneck wrote:Thanks db. Another question- My computer has built-in video memory and a free PCI Express x16 slot. How do I go about installing the new video card? Do I have to disable the onboard graphics and then install the new video card? If so, how do I disable it? Thanks.
