I just got the xbox version.....I had been playing the PC version all along, but wanted to play on my couch instead of at my desk. What were those basic slider tweaks that you guys used? I lost that info and cant search that far back. Thanks.

I sold MVP about three weeks ago, so I'll have to dig and see if I have those settings written down anywhere.
Sorry,
PK

If you get any tighter you're gonna implode. I thought you were loving this game a few weeks ago? I haven't played MVP in over a week, but I know I'm coming back to it because it's too good (and I love baseball too much) to leave alone for long.pk500 wrote:Jack:

It's the best console baseball game I've ever played. But with Forza, TOCA 2, Colin McRae Rally 2005, Close Combat and Winning Eleven 8 in my collection, it ranked about fifth of six in a library of six games.matthewk wrote:If you get any tighter you're gonna implode. Wasn't getting much play, wasn't going to get much play. I'm not a baseball fan, so it was time to ditch it while the resale value was high. Bought it for $23 with a price match at Circuit City; sold it on eBay for $25. I like that math.

Baseball joins basketball among the genres in which I probably won't buy ANY games in the future. I don't like the sports enough to keep one for very long. I tend to gravitate to racing, realistic military shooting, hockey and soccer all year long and football during the season. Those are the sports/gaming genres I truly love.
All of my future purchases will gravitate toward those genres. After gaming for 20-plus years, I finally know what I like and what I play the most.

Take care,
PK

First of all, you're on. Pack your bags, because you're out of here. There's no way in hell I'll buy MVP again, especially with Forza in my collection and Moto GP 3 on the horizon. If I was ever tempted to buy it, just the thought of getting rid of you from the site will be the greatest deterrent ever.Parker wrote:..................

Such a stupid bet by you. It's one thing to make a sports bet in which you have zero control, but making a bet with a person who can control his purchases? Easy bet for me, especially with the motivating factor of booting your ass out of here forever.
Then again, do you think anyone believes your claim that you'll leave? I sure as hell don't. This is the third time in six months you've promised to leave if you lost a bet, and it will be the third time that you won't honor the bet.
You have the credibility of a dictator who promises democracy within six months. In other words, none. You're a liar, plain and simple.
Take care,
PK

Oh if I had a dollar for everytime......
I don't care if you believe me or not, there won't even be a way to verify for sure whether or not you buy it again. The point is I along with everyone else here believes you treat games like whores. I'm sure I'm not the only one to find it somewhat annoying to see someone so enthusiastic (often to the point that the game's marketing dept. would hire you) about a game only to find out you sold it a few days later. Now, personally, I wouldn't care if you would just admit to being the videogame pimp that you are.

Backing out on the bet already? A new record, even by your dishonorable standards.Parker wrote:"There's no way in hell I'll buy MVP again...."

Unlike you, I'm a person of my word. So when I say I don't have MVP, you can take that to the bank as the truth.
And you obviously have a problem with reading comprehension. In my response to Matt, I said MVP is the best baseball game I've ever played.
I didn't sell it because it's not a great game. It is a great game. I sold it because I knew Forza was on the horizon and I knew MVP wouldn't get much play because I'm not a baseball fan.
Am I a videogame pimp? Maybe. But unlike you, I can admit mistakes in pimping a game too hard that didn't deserve it. And again, MVP is worthy of all the praise that I and others have heaped on it. I didn't sell it because it's a bad game.
Am I a videogame purchasing tight-ass? You bet.
Are you an untrustworthy liar? Absolutely.
Take care,
PK

It's interesting you brought up credibility the other day and continue to.
I can't be the only one to question your credibility when it comes to lavishing games with praise only to sell them days later. It just doesn't make sense that someone could be so pleased by a game one day and then have no remorse in selling it so soon afterwards, whether or not you were normally a fan of the genre. A good game is a good game. I don't sell good games I like because it's a genre I never liked before, and I think most people don't share your narrow-minded likes and dislikes.
I honestly don't know who would value your opinion when it comes to games.

There are countless good games I've sold, but I think my life is just a touch different than yours.
One, I'm thrifty. I never use my discretionary income to purchase games. So that limits the number of games I can buy to how much I can churn through sales of other games, racing memorabilia.
Two, I don't have nearly as much free time as you. Have a wife, busy job, three kids, active life with friends and family.
Three, I could really give a f*ck about your opinion regarding anything, including my gaming purchases.
Given how many responses my posts about games receive and how many your infrequent pontifications receive, I'd say there are a touch more people who are interested in my views than yours.
You're the pariah of this Forum. Deal with it. Revel in it -- only you could.

Parker,
You're trolling again by bringing up a "leaving the forum" bet again, since you know this will be a point of contention with others on the forum. I've been patient in the past, but I'm finally sick of it. You cause too many problems, and I don't have the desire or time to have to referee this stupidity.
So you're gone. The offense in this post wasn't a "red card" offense...but you've collected so many damn yellow cards in your time here that you need a break. The ban will be temporary, length determined by myself and the community here.
I'll wait to let you have the last word before you're banned. Sorry...but you've brought this on yourself.
Oh, and feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions, comments, etc. editor@digitalsportspage.com

Well I wasn't actually being serious about that bet, I thought people would get a laugh (cmon pk is downright hilarious with his game buying selling habits) but I guess not.
Oh well, I guess I won't be sharing my forza car. Goodbye.

Oh I want to throw in my two cents. The ban will be temporary, length determined by myself and the community here.
One month for everytime he welched on a bet. One month for everytime his Boston teams choked and he stopped posting until they won again. One month for every game he has discussed on this forum that he pirated. One year for his posts to Adam claiming he can assist him in his ban from OS. And one more year to grow on.
Total time banned - 52 years (give or take a month)
With Kaz and Parker banned at the same time this forum will be 250% more civil in it's discussion. PK's blood pressure will be the main beneficiary.

Parker,
Geez....I purposely didn't ban your IPs because I figured that you should be able to browse the forums if you wanted. But you had to be stupid...so now I'll just have to ban your IPs as well.
And I'm sure you'll try and find proxy servers and post again....and I'll just keep banning. I suggest you don't waste your time with that and just deal with the fact that you've been banned.

Spooky, BD and all:
You cats are right: I swallowed the troll bait with Parker too often. I'm sorry.
I really have no deep-set quarrel with anyone else who posts here, so I'll be more civil and less like a smallmouth bass on the opening day of fishing season in here.
Thanks for putting up with me, fellas. Forza tonight?
Take care,
PK
