OT : AMERICAN IDOL

Anyone watching this show this year? I usually dont watch these type of shows but I got persuaded to watch it this year and it's actually really good.

My front runner is Bo Bice. The 'Heaven' Song he did last night was almost as good as the real thing. Now with this Paula Abdul controversy on ABC, there's even more drama involved.

But this controversy or others don't surprise me. Even though its a call in and vote show, I am sure the producers of the show have final say on who stays and who goes regardless of how many votes a contestant gets. At the end, it's still a TV show and they need to get their ratings.

The show's been pretty entertaining this year.

The only thing good I can say about American Karaoke is that they have one of the best high def pictures available on network tv.

I quit watching all that "top notch" reality programming after the second season of the Real World. If I need to wallow in the real life adventures of others I simply go over to a friends house. Never understood American Idol and the facination with it. Ohh a smart-ass English guy mocking people (shocking).

Has it really come to this? Have we completely exhausted so many topics on DSP that all we are left with is American Idol?

i have watched a little bit, i find most of the contestants hard to take serious, i do like that carrie underwood or whatever, she is H-O-to the double T and i hate counrty music but she can sing the whole show for i care, with a few outfit changes, i'm good.

Ya she seems like she's gone 'Hollywood' and her attitude is just as bad as Scott Savol's. Speaking of Savol, this guy should have been gone 3 weeks ago. They were saying on Stern this morning that some website which hates reality shows like idol floods the phone lines to make Scott survive another week. Their goal is for him to win since they hate the whole American Idol show. I think the website is votefortheworst.com.

Yeah but it is the NL central, I've seen a few college squads that could compete in that division.

I'm secure enough with myself to admit that I watch American Idol. I didn't watch the first 2 seasons but I started watching the damn auditions last season and got hooked. My 2 year old daughter gets a kick out of all the music on the show and says Bo Bice about 5 times every time it's on.

I really want to see Bo win this thing. He might not have the best overall voice of everyone but he is way ahead of the others in overall performance. He's the only one left with stage presence.

As far as unloading on Carrie Underwood is concerned, I wouldn't be too picky where I did as long as I did.

I don't watch American Idol, but I don't mind the contest shows like that or Survivor or the Trump show. They're just game shows with better sets. It's crap like the Bachelor, that f***in nanny show, etc. that I can't stand.

I don't know why women don't visit this forum more often. We talk about things that are interesting to them, like American Idol.
