I don't know what's more amazing, the final review score or the fact the review is eight pages long.
My anticipation for this game can't grow any larger.
Take care,
PK

I'd be willing to bet (being that its a BIG MS release) that it will show up on shelves later today.Dave wrote:**boing**

My wife has been warned...I can't wait for this game. Probably haven't been this excited for a game since GT2 came out. Is tomorrow the expected release date, or are some places going to have it today?
Do we need an official "I have it, where the f*ck is it?, I drove 50 miles to get it, Gamestop said they never even heard of the game, EB employees are dipsh*ts because they told me it's not out until tomorrow, thread?"Dave wrote:Is tomorrow the expected release date, or are some places going to have it today?

Same guy that reviewed GT4 as well. Review sites need to let people review similar games like this.Leebo33 wrote: BBR's Gamespot Review

I read BB's review, too. Very solid. And I liked how he judged Forza on its own merits, not constantly comparing it to Gran Turismo 4 in every aspect of the game.Leebo33 wrote:Really?pk500 wrote:My anticipation for this game can't grow any larger.
BBR's Gamespot Review
That's a fresh, intelligent approach that sadly few reviewers will take. Not a mortal sin, though, as I think most multi-console owners want to know how Forza stacks up to GT 4.
Take care,
PK

BB is a DSP legacy. He formerly reviewed for this site and was a frequent visitor and poster to this Forum. We also raced and played Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six a lot with him on XBL.
He got a writing gig at Gamespot around a year ago, I think, and the quality of the sports game reviews at that site jumped geometrically the second he arrived. I think he's one of the few reviewers there who isn't trapped in a world of Zelda or RPG's and actually knows something about sports.
BB is like our Kent Dorfman from "Animal House." He's our legacy to the mainstream gaming press.
Take care,
PK

That's hilarious Leebo. That's exactly what I used to do with all the first person shooters. I still suck at racing games, but I do at least still play them. With shooters I would just get too frustrated and finally sell them.Leebo33 wrote:I know I will be picking up Forza. I played the Forza demo a good bit this weekend with all the cars and no aids. I am trying really hard to not get too down on this game before the retail version comes up, but I was not too impressed. The physics seemed really strange, particularly the brakes. It almost seems like the brakes are setup to be on/off in the demo. No ability to at all to trail brake. Granted it could be my lack of ability, but out of all the sims I've played on PC and console, it just did not feel intuitive. The sound was pretty mundane as well. There is a big difference between driving with the aids and without. Does anyone know if there is a way to force aids on or off by the host for online racing? If not, that could kill this game online. Like I said though, I am hoping that the retail version is much improved. BBReBozo can't be wrong.
LOL! I've got a friend just like that. Buys all the big racing titles and then they're gone in a month. I think he kept Gran Turismo 4 a month.Leebo33 wrote:I know I will be picking up Forza. Are you talking about me??? Sounds like my scenario exactly. Although, I think I actually might try and hold off on this game. I just know myself too well.Leebo33 wrote:I know I will be picking up Forza. I can't let this game ruin my streak of buying racing games that I hardly ever play. I read somewhere that the demo was only using about 1/3 of the travel of the left trigger. After reading that and adjusting my pressure on the left trigger I was able to brake with a lot more consistency. I would image they will have fixed this in the full version and the brakes won't be quite so touchy.DChaps wrote:The physics seemed really strange, particularly the brakes. That's good to hear. I also hope the game has adjustable brake bias, which it must, because all of the cars in the demo seemed to have big-time front brake bias.
I don't know if it was the touchy trigger controls or the excessive front brake bias, but the cars in the demo would nosedive and get really light in the rear end, causing big-time braking oversteer, with even a moderate touch of the brake trigger.
The game should not be impossible to drive with a controller and all aids off. It should be hard, challenging and realistic, but not impossible, especially for someone experienced with console road racing sims such as the Gran Turismo series, F355 and TOCA.
Take care,
PK
