Doubtful. I only buy one football game per year, and I prefer the NFL to college football. So unless Madden blows and NCAA is far superior, it will be Madden for me.
Take care,

Forza will very likely be my last purchase for this generation. I definitely plan on picking up an Xbox 360 this fall and there are no titles I really feel compelled to purchase before then. Rainbow Six would be a possiblility but it is now coming out so close to the expected 360 launch that I'll probably skip it.
The more I think about it, the more I may cough it up for an Xbox 360 at launch or near launch. Next-gen Madden will be an Xbox 360 launch title, so it makes little sense for me to drop $50 on this-gen Madden and then pay another $50 or more two months later for next-gen Madden.
Good call, mate.
Take care,
PK

The following are two big "ifs" for me. If MVP plays as well on the PSP as it does on the Xbox, I'll do away with my Xbox copy. If Forza doesn't hold my enjoyment past a couple weeks, I'll do away with the Xbox altogether and start saving for the 360.
The longer I hold on to the Xbox, the less money I'll get back in a trade. That's my biggest worry at this point.
Good point. But it wouldn't surprise me -- and it would be smart business acumen -- by EB to offer a trade-in special for Xboxes when Xbox 360 launches. It might spur more people to ditch their Xboxes at launch for Xbox 360s.
Then again, the MS hype machine might create so much buzz for the Xbox 360 that EB won't need any trade-in deals to get the new consoles flying out of the store.
Take care,
PK

Has everyone forgotten how stripped-down Madden 2001 was on the PS2 & Xbox (Was it even on the Xbox?) I remember thinking about what an upgrade it was over the prior generation (read: PS1) Madden, at least for the first day. After that I realized just how many features we consider standard were missing from it. Plus, the AI took a coupl eof steps backwards in the leap to the next gen.
I'm holding off for as long I as can on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. I'm not going to ditch my current system just to spend the next year waiting for the games to catch back up feature-wise.

Why do you have to make such perfect sense? However, I can't imagine Madden for the 360 playing that much differently than Madden for the Xbox. I could be wrong.
The jump from Xbox to Xbox 360 will be far less significant if you ask me. The technological aspects from PS1 to PS2 was far more difficult to program for and I think this years translation will be slightly easier due to the advancing technology. I doubt we will be missing all of the features like we were back in 2002.
Well some people are hoping for real physics engine. You know the shooters will have Havok or some kind of ragdoll physics, so the question is whether EA will go forward with that kind of technology in sports games.
Some people speculate that the Xbox 360 could have a dedicated PPU (physics processing unit).
When EA unveiled that next gen Madden clip, they teased about physics but wouldn't go into detail yet. They also seemed to convince the reporters invited to the unveiling that features like Vision would be carried over to the next gen game.
Madden 2001 may not have had an extensive franchise mode as previous gen. Maddens but it had more animations and different feel/control. You saw many of the same plays as in Madden 2000 but they executed completely differently (not necessarily better, not necessarily worse, just different).
TOCA 3 and Moto GP 3 would be Xbox purchases for me, probably. Both have way more hold over me than football.
But TOCA 3 is a fall or holiday release, so I'm not sure if it's a dual Xbox/Xbox 360 release. With Codemasters' somewhat limited resources, I doubt it.
Moto GP 3 has disappeared off the radar of the game vendor sites. It was on EB's site for a May 30 release and then disappeared. Some sites are reporting a June release date, but no specifics.

While we don't know for sure, but it appears the 360 will be backward compatible right? If so then the 360 is a no brainer for me... even if the rumor of having to shell out the extra 100 for it is the case.
I dont understand why you would rather play the same game on
a smaller screen?

For me, it's all about comfort and portability. Plus, the "sleep mode" is a HUGE bonus. I'm not holding my breath though on MVP for the PSP. We'll see.

I have a feeling that it will be wise to hold on to your current gen. consoles until game stores start pitching trade-in deals towards the next gen ones. I am pretty sure it wil happen. It always does.
They had great deals when the PS1 came out. But nothing for the PS2. The shortages probably made them realize they didn't have to bother.
If another shortage situation materializes, then they probably won't run special trade-ins, at least those which were probably subsidized by the console makers.
