PSP: Your April buying list

Post by jLp vAkEr0 »

Must buy in april for me:

MLB 2006 or MVP(leaning towards MLB just for the online aspect)
ATV Offroad Fury
NBA Street
Logitech PSP PlayGear Pocket Case

Can't believe how cool this little thing is.

After stealing my PSP and playing Lumines all weekend, my g/f is now convinced she needs one of these. I need to marry this girl ASAP

I'm picking up MLB 2006. Hopefully, it will be as good as the console version. The quasi-automatic fielding and zone hitting will probably translate very well to the handheld. I *really* want this game to be good because I need a good team sport game on the PSP. If MLB sucks I'll pickup MVP, but would prefer to just play that on the XBox.

I am really worried about pounding the crap out of the X button on my PSP by playing baseball games. I have broken the X/A button on two controllers in the past two years playing baseball games! Thank God for extended warranties...LOL.

I need a case and will look into the pocketcase.

For what it's worth, I saw a review of NBA Street:Showdown last night on Judgement Day. They gave it a very favorable review and was really impressed with how it translated to the PSP. Just from the video I saw, it looked remarkable.

I read some where that the latest build did not have any play by play. I hope they did not rip it out of the PSP version, because this is the best PBP to date.

MLB 2006 for PSP is the game in reference.

A friend who has NBA just confirmed the game doesn't have commentary.

Good thing I stayed away.

If the system is so great and powerful why the hell can't the sports games have in game commentary?

Leaving out 'play by play' commentary cuts down significantly on disc access, hence not draining battery life nearly as quickly.

And I play my PSP with the sound off most of the time anyway, so I could care less about commentary. In fact, it's annoying that commentary gets repetitive anyway and I end up turning it off about 10 games into my season anyway. So basically I've got no problem with the lack of commentary.

Actually DB, not quite. It clearly states in the 'Internet Forum Handbook' from which the initial 'Threadjack' definition was posted, that any post that is directly answering a specific question (whether on-topic or off-topic) shall not be considered a continuation or an addition to the 'jacking' of any particular thread as long as it is deemed useful and helpful information, regardless of the type of post in which the question originated.

I will be purchasing games in this grand month of April. To which, I reckon I will be receiving MLB, Fifa and possibly ATV after plopping my credit card down on the counter of a game selling establishment.

Better?

Well, some co-workers and I went to EB at lunch and they had recieved 8 copies of Ridge Racer.

I went ahead and cancelled the order to Eb's website.

Too bad about MLB not having commentary. No biggie tough.

Only MVP has commentary from what I've heard.

MLB is why I bought the PSP in the first place. Man, what a great game. It's been all I've been playing on the consoles and just keeps getting better and better.

I thought I would miss commentary on the PSP but to be honest, once I put on the headphones, I don't even think about it once I get into a game of Gretzky. The arena sounds are a lot more engrossing than when I'm playing on my console/tv. I'm hoping baseball is the same way and pretty much think it will be.

I'll be picking up Mercury on Thursday and then one of the baseball games. Probably MLB since it will be the first one out, but I hate the fact it won't have announcers.

May pick up Smart Bomb as well. It looks interesting.
