OT: Amazing Race

Post by Badger_Fan »

I know some of you guys are into this show. Anyone watch last night? Very solid and I was happy as hell to see Ray and Deana go home. I love the fact that Amber and Rob are still in it. It cracks me up to see most of the other teams b*tch about them not "needing" the money. I would love to see them win.
The sing-along songs'll be our scriptures.

I've been watching it too. About time Ray and Deanna went home. Their constant bickering was driving me nuts.

The couple I am pulling for is Ulchenna and Joyce. Rob and Amber are making this race very entertaining though. Last nights episodes were excellent. Looking forward to the 2nd half of this season.

My wife has gotten me hooked on this show. I caught the last half of last season and have watched all the episodes this season.

Yeah, I didn't really care for Ray and Deanna...I figured they would succumb to their incessant bickering and she would eventually lead to their downfall.

As a NY'er, I dislike Rob and Amber for their Boston affiliation and the constant display of the Red Sox cap. But, I have to admit that I find them very entertaining and I am actually pulling for them to succeed. I like how they are playing with everyone else and how irritated everyone gets by them. It's really funny stuff. Gotta love all the help they've been getting along the way too. What's up with the African woman going to the final pitstop with them? Too funny. I see them easily getting to the final 3. And is it me or does Rob remind anyone else of Jimmy Kimmel?

As for Uchenna and Joyce, I've read that there was been significant betting in online "casinos" for them to win leading to the removal of Amazing Race from betting. In case anyone didn't know, there has been widespread gambling on these type of reality contest shows ever since the first "Survivor". In any event, this leads people to believe that Uchenna and Joyce will eventually win. I like them, but I can't seem to wrap my mind around this since they constantly seem to be lost and correct navigation is probably the single most important aspects of this race. Kudos to them if they actually pull it off. They are the nice couple that never really fights and that most people would probably like to see win.

By the way, big props to Gretchen and Larry David...I mean Meredith. The fact that they are still going is amazing in and of itself. I thought they were done when Gretchen split her head open in the caves. All the while she's getting stitched and bandaged she's telling Meredith to find the clue. Now, they have no money or clothes and they still beat the brothers and Ray and Deanna. And how funny was it that the host didn't even flinch and mention that gigantic bloody bandage that Gretchen had wrapped around her head?!?! Not even a "How are you doing?". Funny stuff. But, he went out of his way to mention to Rob and Amber how they didn't stop to check on the brothers.

I know this is getting long, but it's funny that I was just having a conversation with a friend at work about what would happen if someone got seriously hurt on the show? Would they stop or have to pull out or get disqualified? And then both Gretchen and the camera man get hurt on the same episode.

I've been watching as well, only reality show I consistantly watch nowadays.

That cut that Gretchen got was crazy, can't believe they hung on and Ray and Deana got eliminated. They were really annoying with their bickering, I can't see them dating for that much longer. I'm rooting for Rob and Amber because everyone else hates them, and they've got the ruthless "win the game" stuff down pat. Should be interesting to see what happens in the end though.

This version of the race I am enjoying a lot more than last. Just watched this week's ep.

Phil cracks me up! He didn't do his trademark 'here they come' point to the distance this week though. I love how he's always trying to look 'buddy buddy' with the local greeter, but that person is always giving him funny looks.

What's with them all calling the poor guy 'the cameraman?' Doesn't the man have a name? Jeez, for a while there I was worried he was in really bad shape, but I guess 'the cameraman' ended up OK. Scary stuff, especially seeing all those shots right off the wheel. Good thing that guy wasn't hanging out the window getting one of those shots when they flipped.

Meredith and Gretchen are just amazing. They must be the longest lasting of the old couples so far in all the races. They got screwed with the uber punishment! And it was funny to see who was donating loot and goods and who was like 'what the hell, this is a race! Duh!' Still, as much as I love Uchenna and Joyce, I can't help but like Rob and Amber too. I guess they are both tight couples who don't bicker, but their game styles are 180º different.

Now that Ray and Deanna are gone, none of the contestants really bug me. Well, I guess the pilot and the beauty pageant queen kind of creep me out. They don't seem to talk to each other ever, as much as past each other. I'd be fine seeing them go, but all the others I would love to see win. Should make the final stretch some good TV.

I finally got around to watching this weeks episode tonight and it was great. My wife and I are really glad that Ray and Deanna got eliminated this week. Next on our wish list are the Queens. They are so damn annoying it's not funny. I like Rob and Amber and Uchenna and Joyce but the brothers are my favorite. I'd really like to see them win.

I just love the fact the "old people" that didn't "deserve" to be there beat Ray. His attitude to his girlfriend and other people was quite annoying.

I think I've been onto this show since the very end of the second season... If they show hadn't have won an emmy it would have been cancelled!!!

WOW! Finally just watched the 2 hour episode from last week!!! That was some quality TV!

I am pulling right now for either the two brothers or the gay couple. It would be nice to see the older couple win but I don't think it's gonna happen.

How can any of you actually like Rob and Amber??? They are PATHETIC! Most of the moves thye make are semi-cleaver (I'll give them that), but are bascially as close to cheating in this competition as you can get. I think 'The Race' will need to restructures a few of the rules after these two get done. Yuck! They cannot do ANYTHING on thier own. And their tough attitude is not 'cool', it's childish. The way Rob acted when the gay couple did not let them in that cab/van even though there was plenty of room was classic. A little taste of his own medicine, and he did not like it. Bottom line, he's a prick and she has NO mind of her own. She really won Survivor!?!?! That floors me.
