Those of you that are getting a PSP, what games will you get
Just curious as to what most of us are picking up initially.
I'm definitely picking up Ape Escape and Untold Legends. I've got enough to pick up two more games so I'm thinking I want a driving game so I'll probably go with Need For Speed Underground Rivals. The fourth game is going to be a sports game, but I'm not sure yet as to which one it will be. As much as I love Hot Shots Golf, I'll probably go with Tiger if I get a golf game. Then there's MVP and MLB and I was all set to pick one of those up and now I'm not so sure. From what I am hearing, both MVP and MLB are really stripped down to work on this system. It's possible that neither will have a franchise mode. I just don't think I need another baseball game right now as I already have 3 excellent ones to play as it is. I'm leaning towards Tiger Woods being my 4th game.
The game I'm the most interested in is Death Jr., but it doesn't come out until early April.
So what's everyone getting?

According to both Gamestop and Ebgames, FIFA and MLB have been pushed back to early Apri (4/5 or so I believe). As for Ridge Racer, Ebgames has it pushed back to April, but Gamestop is still showing it as being available for launch.ScoopBrady wrote:I'm getting FIFA (gasp), Ridge Racer, and MLB for sure. I will get 1 more but I haven't decided between Mercury, Lumines, or Untold Legends.

I'm starting to think the same way. From my other thread, I was pretty well set on getting it. Now I may just wait. I really wanted to be able to play MLB at launch. With only a week to go, I would think that these places would have a better idea than they apparently have. I feel like those stores now...going back and forth!GTHobbes wrote:I saw a June date for Hot Shots when I looked at EB's site earlier today. With MLB scheduled for April, I'm not in any hurry to go out and grab a PSP at launch...If MLB and Hot Shots were out at launch, I'd be waiting in line with everyone else.
I'm leaning toward purchasing a PSP, and if so, I'm most interested in Tiger, NBA Street, Spiderman (my four year old), and Offroad Fury. I'll likely only buy one at first.
I like the idea of movies, and hope to get one with the Spiderman 2 movie included. This is a neat contraption, and I've entered a few contests to win one, but I don't know yet if I'm willing to shell out 300 bucks for a portable and a game. We'll see...

You're right Scoop...a week and a half aint that long to wait, assuming it isn't pushed back further. But why pick one up on 3/24 if there's no other games I'm interested in...? No sense buying it and not having anything to play. If Gretzky's good, though, that could change things for me.ScoopBrady wrote:You guys do realize that MLB is coming out only a week and a half after the launch right? I hear ya Scoop. I guess I'm just wondering out loud whether it will change again. MVP shows as 4/25, and so who really knows.ScoopBrady wrote:You guys do realize that MLB is coming out only a week and a half after the launch right? You make it sound like it's over a month.
I guess if I pick it up at launch, I want to play something that really interests me. I don't think that will be NFS or Ridge Racer, or playing some TW. I remember grabbing the original PSX, and getting some games which I tired of very quickly.
Then again if the demand is so great, I should just grab one. I hate feeling so indecisive!! I think what's getting me is the price tag. If this were a console, it would be a no brainer. For me a $250 handheld is really digging deep. I want to be as sure as I can be (if any of this makes sense).

The way I look at it is get it on launch if you can because it's gonna be hard to get one for a couple of months if you don't. There was a shortage of the new PS2 systems when they first came out and you didn't see them in stores for a long time. I'm not thrilled that FIFA and MLB have been pushed back but there should be at least 1 game available that I'll want and I've been creaming over this thing since I saw it.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

That's a little quick hip. I mean how often do you buy a new system solely for the games released on the same day? Not to mention MLB is due on the 5th. Grab TW or NFS and enjoy until baseball comes out bud. I think this thing is going to be sweet. Let's remember that it is only a handheld, and thus is going to be limited, but it's still got good graphics and the online play. Don't jump ship yet. You'll want one in a month and won't be able to get your hands on one.'m almost tempted to sell it on ebay since there are really no launch titles that I am all that excited about.
Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just a little bummed that there is nothing out I really want at launch, which ruins some of the fun of getting a system on the launch date. I'm still very excited about the hardware itself and the games in development. I was just hoping to be able to pick up a baseball game to play online and something like GT4 the day I got my PSP. The reason I have been thinking about selling it is just to make a quick profit, which I could then use towards buying a PSP and some games later on when there is more software available. I'm sure I will probably still just pick it up and keep it though, TW 2005 looks like it will be a fun pick up and play game.RallyMonkey wrote:That's a little quick hip. That's exactly what I want one for...pick up and play. I'm not interested in any serious gaming on a handheld. Which is also why I'm leary of paying that much for one...
But I've had one in my hands, courtesy of a friend who imported it, and MAN, it's a sweet little machine!
