Unfortunately I could not make it, I sorted my draft list last night knowing this would happen. But I'm not liking what I am seeing :(

Ah well family first.

Not from a pitching stand point, But god the right side of my infield are Chicago Whitesoxs ugh!

LOL, This is my first foray into FB in 6 years when I decided I was getting too into it. I'll need to hit that Yahoo site and read the rules.

Good times last night. I swear, though, I had one of those drafts where nearly every pick I wanted was taken 1 or 2 spots before I picked. But I did much better than the autodraft from last year!

Jack, your team looks pretty good. Your SPs in particular are strong (much better than my 10 cents on the dollar staff). With 16 teams, everyone's going to have holes. I just found out my 3B, one of the top prospects, has a bulging disc, and my backup is Chicago Mullet Head Joe Crede who hit .239 last year and lost 20 pounds because of stress. So right about now, I'd feel better starting George Brett's left nut at third.

I know my team has holes, but I'm trying to figure out if it's because of having 16 teams in the league or my drafting.

Since we're at it, here's my team (At least what I remember. I'm too lazy to go back to Yahoo and get it exact):

C - Molina (ANA)
1B - Sexson & Phil Nevin
2B - Julio Lugo
SS - David Eckstein & Cesar Izturis
3B - A-Rod
OF - Pierre, Magglio Ordonez, Willie Mo Pena, Coco Crisp, Nix, and Shannon Stewart

SP - Harden, Radke, Sabathia, Wells
RP - Lidge & Francisco Cordero

I was so weak last year with regards to relief pitchers, this year I made sure I had 2 guys that can pile up the saves. They also help team ERA and WHIP.

I took chances on Sexson & Mags returning to form. If they don't come through I only have A-Rod for power.

Looking over my team again I think I have a surpplus of OFs, so if anyone needs one I'm willing to trade.

Yes, but right now everyone is on waivers until March 12 (you'll see that from the add players screen). So you can put a request in and, if no one above you in the waiver order claims them, you will get that player. Since you drafted last, you might be first for waivers? I'm not sure.

Actually, looking over my team, I did okay. I have good HR and RBI potential, and probably decent SLG. I have no basestealers, though, and probably too many free swingers for a good OBP.

My pitching looks strong for SVs and decent for ERA and Ws. WHIP and Ks not so hot, and I didn't really focus on holds because that's hard to predict before the season starts except for proven MRs that don't close like Ray King and Flash Gordon.

I feel I did fairly decent. I've got almost zero holes in offensive production. Virtually my whole team is in the 15+ range in homers and 80+ rbis. Of course the two former A's heading my rotation. I think I'll be alright. We'll see.

By limiting the pitching to 166 IP's per slot is severly limiting. The only time you'd be able to use your bench pitchers is if there were an injury. If Tim Hudson pitches 200 innings, I want him in there for those innings. Limiting the whole staff to 1000 would severly limit the strategy that would go into selecting pitchers for the week...don't you think?

I'll knock it down to 1100...kind of a happy medium. Hopefully it will balance out with the people who want to tweak daily and the people who just set their lineups for a week.

sf_z wrote:So the Thundercats are Danimal. I was wondering last night who owned some of the autodraft teams.

The Tcats had a strange autodraft going SP-SP-SP-SP w/ their first four picks. The Phog autodrafted the opposite direction w/ 9 straight position players and no SPs until round 14.
That is really odd. I knew that my wife had a business dinner so i would need to take care of my two girls (18 & 3 months) and that attending the draft would not happen. So I spent some considerable time pre-ranking my players. I couyld swear of my first 30 guys I only had 3SP in there.

But whatever I am just doing it for fun, some of my guys aren't that bad. But my outfield...yuck!

If you need an OF, I seem to have inadvertantly loaded up to an extent, at least as much as a 16 team will allow.

My OFs are as follows:
Pierre
Mags
Shannon Stewart
Willie Mo Pena
Lance Nix
Coco Crisp

If you're interested let me know. I could use some more power, or maybe a starting pitcher.

Wouldn't loading up signify getting a lot of one position with some talent?

DB, What place did you finish last year? What place is your basketball team in?

Dan, I'm the Mudpuppies.
