Jets vs Steelers...I think the Steelers control the game from start to finish...On both sides of the ball they are the better team....I think they are just too strong for the Jets. Steelers will be able to run and play action pass while I think the Steelers will snuff Curtis Martin...The Jets do have heart so it could be alot closer than I think...
Steelers 27 Jets 10
Rams vs Falcons...We all know who I want to win but these are my picks...The Rams were not able to handle Vick earlier this season and I dont see how they can this game either...I dont think the Rams have the players on that D to stop Vick or Dunn... Martz will again forget to run the ball and Bulger will be a sitting duck...Moron Mike will blow timeouts and it will hurt this week.... The Falcons are not the Seahawks...
Falcons 31 Rams 17
I hope I am wrong...and if you look at my pt spread picks this yr..you will see I am wrong alot....an awful lot.
I do hope for two great games...
GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!! the greatest 8-8 team in NFL history!
The Steel boys are off to a good start... I turned on my TV to the sight of Polamalu running down the field like a madman, with his stupid mullet flapping behind him....

Looks like Mr. Roehtleinosidhowoi is a little flustered...17-10 Jets on the intereception return for the TD. Nice throw to the wide open Jets player under no pressure at all really.
Like I said...lucky sons of b*tches. At least it was a fun game to watch...both teams trying to give the game away. It was like watching the Dolphins play all over again.
Big Ben MUST play better for them to even have a chance next week. It was obvious how simplified the offensive passing game was in the second half. The coaches must have been scared Ben would blow it. He sure did look like a rookie today.
On the other hand, it shows how good of a team the Steelers are...to watch their Special Teams and Offense struggle, and still come up with the win.
Luck? Maybe bad luck, considering they gave up 14 points on offense and special teams, plus lost a fumble at the 20 yd line in the 4th quarter. If that is a win because the Steelers are lucky, I'd hate to see what bad luck would look like.
I agree, the Jets two TDs were extremely flukish. Not to rationalize them away, but most of the time when you throw an INT that's caught at the 14 it's basically like a punt. And you certainly can't count on a punt return TD happening every week. If the Steel can run the ball like today, and play defense like that, they will be fine. All challengers will have to come through Heinz field to beat them.

While watching yet another player (Warrick Dunn) hand off a TD ball to a fan in the stands...
Isn't this at least a cool trend in post-TD actions? Sure, everybody's doing it now but I much prefer it to the Emmitt Smith model of greedily hoarding your footballs in the team equipment chest, to sell/auction off later. (The only thing this Cowboy fan didn't too much care for about Emmitt.) Must be cool to get an NFL Playof TD football from an NFL player.

The other team missing two field goals means the Steelers were lucky. These Pitt fans who say otherwise are fooling themselves. Had they blocked the two kicks, sure, it's not luck....but having Brien shank both of them....is LUCK. Deal with it...your team is terribly overrated. They will prove that next week, just like they did this week to a terrible Jets team.
First off: anyone that thinks the Jets suck just isn't paying attention. That is a good football team and one that matches up very well against the Steelers. Anyone that thought the Steelers would roll over the Jets probably doesn't realize that touchdowns are very hard to come by when these teams get together, and usually when they are scored it is on "fluke" plays like Bettis' halfback option or Curtis Martin's option play in 2001. These games are usually FG battles.
Ben played like a rookie. The week of rest did matter in the second half...but the Steelers looked out-of-sync offensively for much of the game. It will be interesting to see how the Eagles play with so much rest. Ben certainly looked like he hasn't played in 3 weeks.
I'll say the Steelers were very fortunate to win, but it wasn't luck. The difference in the game was that Jeff Reed hit a 45 FG in the first half and O'Brien missed a 43 yarder at the end of regulation. A 47 yard FG in Heinz Field is equivalent to a 55 yard FG in any other stadium, so it would have been "luck" if O'Brien made that one.
Terms like "suck", "choke", and "lucky" are customarily thrown around by people who's favorite teams are sitting at home right now. I don't care how they win as long as they keep doing it. I've seen beautiful losses. I'll take ugly wins any day.
I actually like the fact that the Steelers will be underdogs in the AFC Championship game because they haven't faired well as favorites in the past. It really doesn't matter though...2 more "ugly" or "lucky" wins and I'll be happy.
Again. I will ask. How are the Steelers overrated? Many experts picked the Patriots or Colts out of the AFC before the playoffs started. The Steelers had a great regular season, but they were not overwhelming favorites to win it all. Who exactly is doing this overrating? Most people listed them as one of the favorite 3 or 4 teams that have a good shot at winning the Super Bowl.
If the Steelers lose next weekend, it will either be to a 14-2 team that has won the Super Bowl 2 of the past 3 years or to a 12-4 team that played in the AFC Championship last year and is having one of the best offensive seasons in the history of the NFL. How the hell can you say that will prove the Steelers are overrated?
