Lots of games coming out this week, what´s everyone lo

Since I am waiting for the ´football hype´ to die down and pick the game that best suits me in a few weeks, I am very interested in some of the other non-sports games coming out this week.

<BR>The two that I am planning on picking up are ´F-Zero GX´ for the cube and ´Otogi´ for X-Box. Both of these games look like grapical splendors with some very fun and tight gameplay.

<BR>Anyone else interested in either of these games ???

<BR>Also, I think I will be passing on Soul Caliber II as the gameplay looks NO different from the last version and all the reviews seem to be giving it semi-high scores just out of respect.

<BR>Soul Calibur II looks groovy, and I loved Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast. But you´re right -- the gameplay of SC II looks no different. Nothing wrong with that, but there are too many other games I want to get to drop $50 on SC II.

<BR>Speaking of upcoming games, what non-football titles are you guys geeked about in the next two months or so? I have a long list of games I´m looking at, but I already know these games will be must-purchases, all on Xbox:

Well I TOTALLY bought into the hype and got Soul Caliber II last night (how could I not with all the panic going on a EB).

<BR>FAST ! I liked the other games in the series and I also relaly enjoy fast futuristic racers in general (Extreme-G). This game seems like a blast with a ton of eye candy. Basically if you liked the series or like furturistic racers, you can´t go wrong.

<BR>Two Words - Beatiful and fluid !!!

<BR>God, I had forgoten just how fluid and smooth this game engine is. It is an absolute joy to play. Totally easy to pick up, yet lots of room to master. I was pulling off AWESOME moves within 5 minutes (which I need in a fighting game, I do NOT have the patience for ´impossible´ moves).

<BR>The graphics are incredible, yet, I am not nearly as impressed as I was hoping. Yes, they are top notch, but they are not that much improved from the last version (which says a lot about just how much SC 1 was ahead of its time ).

<BR>I only played it for about 45 minutes so my impressions are not very thorough. But so far I am glad I picked it up. It´s worth the hype. Just as smooth as buttah !

The Simpson´s Hit and Run - which is a knock-off/satire of GTA III/VC - comes out the second week of September.

<BR>The show´s writers (unfortunately the new ones, not the old ones from the good old days) wrote the script for the game. It is supposed to have numerous references to specific Simpson´s episodes.

<BR>I am definitely going to give this one a shot - especially since reviewers have been giving it 7s and 8s (which is astronomical for a Simpson´s game)....

Stopped in the local store yesterday, and couldn´t resist getting one of the 4 non-reserved copies of F-Zero GX they had. Exactly as I expected it to be, which is to say a TOTAL BLAST!

<BR>I want to get Mario Golf, too, when I can find a cheap used copy. No rush for me there, but if it´s nearly as good as the N64 one or Hot Shots 3, I will be very happy, I am sure.

<BR>Now that I have an Xbox (yes PK, I have an Xbox now, just had to get KotOR), I am very much looking forward to picking up a Live kit and ESPN Hockey. Very much. (I´m even looking forward to the Sega football, if you can believe it. Though I am enjoying Madden PS2 v. humans both at home and online, I don´t seem to be enjoying it quite as much as NCAA.)

<BR>Also, PRD online may just be soooooo sweet. If it works well, how could I resist?

<BR>Speaking of resisting, once I get the Live kit I´ll be sure to rent a copy of the new Ghost Recon. I played the old one a bit on my Mac, but never got in a multiplayer game. Single player is engrossing, but I never quite got hooked on it like my brother in law apparently did. I gave it to him for Xmas, but he felt he had to give it up for Lent, which made my sis quite happy! So he sent it to me. I should send it back, now that Lent is loooong over! That would be sure to bug my sister! It seems the Xbox Live action for GR is excellent (judging mostly from posts here), so I look forward to trying that new one out and maybe getting a copy if I enjoy it enough.

I think my hands are going to be full with WE6 which I just recently got ahold of (with PS2 to boot). Late to the party I know but with my limited videogame time these days--and a very recent nasty unexpected financial hit--it´ll have to do me until October when I´ll be thinking about a pointyball title.
