Paul McCartney will be the featured performer in the Super Bowl halftime show and organizers promised there won't be any breast baring this time.

Its Fox so you'll probably get McCartney and Toby Keith singing Live and Let Let Live.

For God's sake, don't let McCartney sing his horrible post-9/11 song "Freedom" again, ever.
How cool would it be if he said, "Screw it I'm singing the full 12 minute version of Hey Jude!"

No offense to any McCartney fans out there, but why him? And why to major sports leagues throw out old and tired acts? What's next? Huey Lewis and the News playing at the NBA All-Star Game? Halftime shows are about as worthless as the acts nominated for the Grammys (most out of touch group around).

I'm on standby in case he can't make it, given that our worthwhile musical output since 1970 is exactly the same - nil.

Although I think that is a harsh criticism of my Casio version of Kraftwerk's 'Pocket Calculator'.

Huey Lewis and the News playing at the NBA All-Star Game?
I wouldn't mind that.

They're already booked and performing that at the MLB All-Star game - BALCO remix version, I understand.

Some suggestions for the NBA game :

- Two Tribes (Frankie Goes to Hollywood)

- Debaser (Pixies)

- Holiday (Ron Artest remix)

- Pride (In Tha Name of Thug) - U2

Why does the NFL keep selecting performers from a country that could care less about the sport? Though he is bound to be better than Elton John.

Let me be the first to say who cares about the halftime show? I'm a big Beatles fan, not much of a solo Macca fan, but bottom line is I don't care who plays at halftime.

I just hope the Steelers are playing and not sitting at home after losing another AFC title game.

They picked him because he is the "safe" pick. That's all there is to it.

And BTW, I love how every single news coverage of this Paul McCartney story has some kind of reference to what happened at last year's Super Bowl and with most mentions it comes in the form of some terrible joke.

that's exactly why. I think they should let Janet Jackson flash the other boob this year to even things out :)

Seriously, am I the only one that's disgusted with these "new morals" that are dictating what we see and listen too lately? I couldn't believe all the backlash over that stupid Nicolette Sheridan ad before last week's Mon nite football game.

i said before if the FCC would just define was indecent then the government could save some money and spend it for education, rather then worry about what people see and gear that they dislike, which we should all be able to handle the situation and explain to our children. what's funny is i'll bet the same people that complain about MNF last week, also buy their children grand theft auto and eminem.

How come you never hear any complaints about the Coors commercials and THOSE TWINS. There are plenty of commericials that are offensive on many different levels.
