What a wild rumble. I was watching the game thinking to myself, "wow, Artest isn't trying to knock Ben Wallace's lights out for that." Then I see the trail of beer reaching Ron...
It will be interesting to see how the league handles this. I'm sure B. Wallace will get a game or two for his overreaction, but what will they give Artest? I thinking Stephen Jackson should probably get the harshest penalty, he require the least amount of provoking.
The fans were dispicable though, absolute shitheads. I can't believe how many took cheapshots on the Pacers in the stands and also the downpour of beers and bottles as they left the court. Detroit fans should be ashamed.
Again, I can admit bias, the Pacers are so beat up that these suspensions will hurt.

Same here. Wow.XXXIV wrote:Just saw it on ESPN News
WOW
Artest should be suspended for the season. That was the longest and most frightening fan-player fight I've seen in pro sports. Ever. And the fans sure acted like idiots, too.
What a league. What a joke. To borrow from the old New Jersey tourism line mumbled by former Governor Tom Kean: The NBA and its fans -- purrr-fect together.
Take care,
PK

I don't have really too much of a problem with Artest's actions (beyond wishing he would have taken the high road for all's sake), but Jermaine O'Neal really went nuts...

They keep showing different parts every time they show it.
It would be nice(?) if they showed it all the way through.
I doubt the NBA wants the world to see its product pounding on fans and getting pounded on by fans.
Again...that must have been one evil cup.
I have seen a chair flying into the stands. Anyone know where it came from?

Ya I just saw they showed a few more shots of the players going into the stands, but still not the full thing.
Also, you notice how the ESPN broadcasters are blaming this all on the fans and pretty much saying the players need to defend their butts. Talk about kissing the NBA's butt. How are plastic bottles thrown at players enough reason to go after fans in the stands and punch them.

I bet you one will be on BitTorrent or other file-sharing networks by the morning ...Weaver2005 wrote:Just saw it on ESPNNEWS as well but seems like they didnt show everything, why? Does the NBA not want all of it to be shown?
Anyone have a full feed as it happened live?
The NBA apologists on ESPN are comical, aren't they? The NBA PR office couldn't have planted better employees in the booth themselves.
Take care,
PK

Wait ... Artest can't go in the crowd because he was hit with a plastic cup. The dude was laying on the scorer's table. What exactly was he trying to do? Tan? Relax?Kazuya wrote:I don't have really too much of a problem with Artest's actions (beyond wishing he would have taken the high road for all's sake), but Jermaine O'Neal really went nuts...
Artest, Jackson and O'Neal should be tossed for a long while.

Maybe I would have( Im insane)....but I doubt most other people on the planet would react that way to a plastic cup half full of beer hitting you.
How many times you seen a cup thrown at a player?
Do they react this way?
The guy on ESPN just said that the league can make a statement by NOT fining or suspending any players for what happened in the stands?
These guys have lost their f***in minds.
Arent they amazing?Weaver2005 wrote:They are showing more on the ESPN Kings Halftime show.
ESPN makes me want to puke. They are saying this is all the fans fault. I guess ARtest sucker punching a kid is the fans fault.
Give ESPN the NBA to televise and look at them go all ass kisser.
I think their take on what happened is actually more amazing than what happened.
All I'm saying is that I can't hold Artest to a standard I don't hold. If somebody tossed some s*** at me without provocation there would be hell to pay. I'm not good at turning the other cheek.pk500 wrote:Wait ... Artest can't go in the crowd because he was hit with a plastic cup. The dude was laying on the scorer's table. The other players who weren't attacked first were out of bounds though, IMO.
