Star Wars Battlefront Interest Thread
I have a feeling that this one may be lightly attended given the sports on TV tonight, but would I have any takers for another Battlefront night, starting just after 11 EDT?

That was good times last night, even with the smaller crowd. For whatever reason, the voice just doesn't seem to work well for me. It was a bit frustrating last night as a couple times, I would have a command post held down with a tank, but couldn't get anyone to come claim it. When I jump out of my tank, I run the risk of my wimpy Pilot ass getting sliced and diced, and then not only do we not have a new command post, but I've given the enemy a big ol' tank!
Rob, it was good to see you there. You were ripping it up in that walker on the Spire map! I'm definitely having more and more fun the more I get comfortable in the maps, I hope you're starting to enjoy the game more.
Oh, and I can't believe that big comeback we had on that Spire map, too. That was insane! I think at one point it was like 45-83 or something, yet still we were able to squeeze out the victory. And to have 2 matches come down to the last guy, with the spawn numbers at 1-1 or so, wow!
Adam, don't be fooled. There are plenty of people around here who have a PS2. The thing is, most who do have both, and since the Xbox is so far superior in every way (yes, you do get used to the controller, actually for things like racing games and shooters it's much better because of the triggers and the more responsive analog sticks) that any game that is on both machines gets its play from DSPers on the Xbox. I myself was a late Xbox adopter, and now the only thing my PS2 is good for is the occasional WE7 game (OK maybe I'll get the new GTA).
What we don't do here is engage in stupid fanboy shenanigans about which machine is better. We have reasoned arguments, and for example a game like NCAA '05, while it's crappy on both machines, pretty much has the nod around here for the PS2 over the Xbox version.
Don't I just know how to suck the fun out of it all?

I was kicking myself after that one. You guys were down to two and you were all in tanks. Rocket launchers hardly scratch those huge beasts and I was watching as our count dwindled from the twenties into the teens and lower. I tried and tried to get into one of the droid army tanks but it wouldn't let me.Zeppo wrote:Oh, and I can't believe that big comeback we had on that Spire map, too. That was insane! Zepp, it was better than that. It got to 19-2, and I was in the spire securing it one more time, and the thought occurred to me "Get in a vehicle" and the second was "Man, I hope those guys got into one!"
I noticed that with only 2 lives remaining, no one was getting waxed, and I knew you guys had taken cover. So I ran to one of the enemy tanks and got in, and started blasting. Cheap? Maybe. Sweet? You bet! That and the one that got down to 2-1 was intense...

Auto aim was on, as evidenced by prevalence of the simul-kills first noticed by Mix. I'll continue to alternate the setting.
Great fun as always.
I'm thinking maybe the best thing to attack the big walkers on the Geonosis level may be the starfighters. When I'm a republic guy, I can never seem to find those ships, but when I'm a driod, if i spawn at the spire, I sometimes spawn right in the hangar the ships spawn in. I think maybe those ships have missiles? I don't know maybe not. Also, i think all the tanks and walkers are weaker in the rear. I'm pretty sure about this, but i could be wrong. I do know on the one icy map with the big walker, I was able to blow one up pretty quick with the standard droid tank by blasting it from behind. Or did I steal a republic tank and load it up the rear with missiles?
Thanks for the tip, guess I cant play with you guys, it sounds like fun though:(Zeppo wrote:That was good times last night, even with the smaller crowd.
