The "What are you playing right now" thread

Post by JRod »

Just doing a routine check-up of people's librariies. Plus you guys always have some good ideas on games that I usually rent a few days later.

Right now I'm gaming light.

Madden
ESPN NFL
Sims 2
Football Manager Demo (great stuff)

Looking towards renting/buying
Xmen Legends
Tiger (Too much negative reaction to buy, so this is a rental)
Nascar Chase for the Cup (PK seems to enjoy it)
FIFA (I really need a soccer fix and WE8 won't be out until next year)
NBA Live (I've heard good things but don't think I've heard enough to shell out $40.)
Burnout 3 (is anybody playing this anymore)

Winning Eleven 8, more Winning Eleven 8, and even more Winning Eleven 8!

Seriously, after playing this game I don't even give any other games another thought.

Best wishes,

After a break, I am getting back into Fable. Also CMR05 with it's 'new game smell' has me by the balls. The occasional football game online has a great pull for me (ESPN since it's easier to deal with online, though i would still like to play Madden if I think I can get in a game with a DSPer).

Of course SW Battlefront with the big gang, it's a total blast and great to game with bunches and bunches of super-cool gamers!

ToCA league still going strong, despite our occasional breaks.

That's about it. Bored with ESPN hockey, the lack of a real season really hurts, and I still miss the Rivals 2+ on 2+ online games. Never been much for video-game hoops (although if there had been a new Inside Drive, I likely would have tried that one, judging by general consesus here).

Just over a month till Halo2!

I busted the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones in my right hand so I'm pretty much out of action. Had surgery last Saturday and can look forward to 6 weeks of limited use. Thank God the beta demo of FM2005 just came out. I can also sort of play SWG. <OT>If anyone knows any other one handed games (minds out of gutter please) I'd love to know.

Still don't have Colin yet. Maybe I'll get the free copy next week or break down and actually buy it.

Otherwise, I'm playing a steady diet of ESPN NHL 2K5, ESPN NHL 2K5, ESPN NHL 2K5 and ESPN NHL 2K5, with a sprinkle of NASCAR 2005 and TOCA 2 thrown in.

I guess I should play a bit of ESPN NFL 2K5, too, as it's the only one of the four games I own that is being neglected a bit these days.

Still, I'm playing online backgammon against human opponents more than any console game these days. I've always enjoyed gammon, but I'm really back into it now.

Take care,
PK

Currently playing:

Madden 2005
NASCAR 2005
Star Wars Battefront
Tiger Woods 2005
ESPN NHL 2k5

Also in the library, but not getting much PT:

ESPN NFL 2k5
Halo

Nascar playtime is beginning to fade, given that I want to finish out my Madden season, and I'm enjoying Star Wars online. ESPN NHL is just awaiting the moboggins league to finally start.

Tiger Woods is a purchase I regret, but I'm playing it a bit just to feel like I got something for my $50. I really don't care for golf games that feel like miniature golf...I wish I hadn't traded in Links.

ESPN Football
Fable

SW:B for the time being. Zeppo has convinced me to hang with this one for a few more tries, but it's easing its way toward oblivion pretty quickly.

All for XBox:

CMR 2005
ESPN NHL
Madden 2005

My gaming time has been really limited lately, so I hope to expand to a couple others or rent a couple games (XMen, Fable) that are outside of the sports/driving genre.

Football Manager 2005 demo (my feud with Fergie continues to rumble on..)

Rome Total War

Sims 2

and Star Wars dropped through my door this AM, not tried it yet.

My gaming time it stretched pretty thin these days:

Tiger Woods 2005 - PC 75% of time

NCAA Football *2004* - PS2 15%
TOCA Racer 2 - XBox 5%
Links 2004 - XBox 5%

I'll be trying out TW 2005 XBox before long, so I'm withholding judgement on it for now.

PK has me interested in trying NASCAR 2005; anyone still playing that one?

Once I start to feel like it's hockey season, I'll give NHL 2K5 a try. Same with NBA 2K5. I start feeling hockey in November and basketball in January. So those are a ways off yet.

NASCAR 2005

WE7--I find myself going back to this one every few weeks or so. Right now I am in my 7th or 8th seaon on 5 star in the ML. My next game is the WEFA championship game (or whatever they call the equivalent of the Champions League) v. AC Milan. I will probably play it tonight, I am psyched.

Madden--I have been stuck on game 9 or 10 of my franchise for about 3 weeks now. I am not sure why, but video game football just doesn't do it for me like it used to.

Looking forward to eventually buying: ESPN hockey, TOCA and/or Burnout 3, and yes, I too will try FIFA again this year...I will never learn.

On XBox - Richard Burns Rally, Tiger Woods 2003, Moto GP 2, SC:PT. Can't seem to get into Splinter Cell, spending most of my time with Tiger's 2003 outing and RBR.

On PS2 - This Is Football 2005 - Sony snuck this one out today without really bothering to promote it. It's only about 6 months since the last edition, but this one is closer to the mark than TIF 2004 was.

Considering adding the very good Outrun 2, Madden 2005 and CMR2005 to my collection - word is that ESPN NFL isn't likely to see a PAL release so I'm forced to go with EA for my gridiron fix.

Cheers,
Adam
