DSP NHL2k5 league schedule is up!!!!!!!!
Finally, we can get this thing going. First round games must be played by the 6th. Should we all get together on one night, or should we just arrange the games to be played individually amongst ourselves at some point between now and then?
We should set up regular "Meet your Opponent" nights and times in order to aide the process of moving things along, but also encourage people to hook up on their own. For example: Tuesday nights between 8PM and 10 PM could be a 'meetup' slot, while gamers are free to also play anytime they can.

I come in peace! Please don't hurt me!
My Xbox just went kaput. I played a little ESPN nba last night and everything went well. I woke up early and thought I would get a game in before work. The xbox wouldn't boot up past the splash screen. I can't even get the cd tray to open to get the game out to try loading another. This happened a few months ago as well and it worked itself out but I have been getting DD errors occassionally since then.
I am going to call support this afternoon and see what I can do but I think I am going to have to get this fixed by putting a new cd drive in. I wanted to get this league going just as bad as the rest of you fellas, but what can I say? Mo, if I can't play, my games will just be forfeited correct? Or does the league come to a stand still? I would like to get this fixed and continue playing, but if you guys want to replace me with someone else I understand that too. I just feel terrible.

I agree with Sport. Having 1 or 2 regular "hockey nights" where the majority of the games will be played and then in addition, you can make arrangements with your opponent if you cant make it during those nights. It will also be fun to be able to look at the scores of the other games while you are playing. I also propose that we all get on MS Messenger. to make contacting each other easier.
I will be on tonite after 10 pm EST if my opponent wants to play.
p.s. can you play games out of order of the schedule?

No, you can't Jack. Unfortunately, everyone must complete their first game before advancing to their second.JackB1 wrote:I agree with Sport. Blublub, I'll be around tonight. It's your Caps vs. my Flyers.

Truth, I think the only thing I can do is bump you out. I'm not sure how it goes if you don't play the game. I really can't say. You can't really forfeit, since the other guy doesn't play either, so I'm assuming that nobody gets points. Bumping you and asking for another alternative is about the only way to go right now, sorry. Is there any news on your Xbox?

Geesh... a bit harsh there mo. The poor guy's Xbox broke. That doesn't make him a deadweight... yeah he'll forfeit one or two games, but if he still wants to play what's the problem? He said he'll get the box fixed and continue to play. It should only take a week or so to get the Xbox fixed.mobiggins wrote:Yeah, but either way, it wouldn't really be cool to have a deadweight in the league like that...
I know it must be frustrating just trying to get this damn league going though... thanks for all your effort.
Grog - when is a good day and time for you to play? I'm on Central Time. You? Thanks.vraknari wrote:Edmonton/GROGtheNailer at Anaheimgrtwhtsk wrote:Wish I could see who I'm playing first. I'm stuck here at work. By the way, I'm the Mighty Ducks.
Could anyone tell me who I'm playing first (Team and Gamertag)? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Let me go on record as saying there is no way this league will stay afloat. 26 games is WAY too many. People will not commit to 6 months of gameplay...I will, but others won't. Life changes too much in a 6 month period for everyone and it just isn't feasible. I really hope to hell that people do go through with it, but at one week per game, and 26 games equals a half a year.

Ok, here's the deal on the xbox. I am sending it in for repair. I tried my hardest to get it fixed for free but they wouldn't budge. I think Granato or someone else recently had theirs fixed for no charge, even out of warranty, but no dice. I got a reduced out of warranty repair cost of $59, free shipping, plus a game. I will receive the box to ship my xbox around Tuesday of this coming week and he said it will take them a day to repair. Process should take 2 weeks. I hope this causes no problems, but if you have to get someone else I completely understand.

The rounds could take faster than a week, if we all manage to, say, play on the same night a couple of times.
Truth, I think we should do this democratically among the members of the league. Please voice your opinions on whether we should take a replacement for Truth or forfeit his games until he returns.
I'm okay either way, though the latter option gives a couple of people some wins that others may have to fight for. I haven't looked at the options in the game, but if it's possible to make it a tie between truth and his opponents for the next couple of games, that might work as well.
db, It would be interesting to have everybody in the league paypal $5 to the winner of the league. That might be some extra incentive right there!
