Heard on NPR that Annheiser-Busch paid for the exclusive right to serve Budweister at WC 2006 in Munich. Bavarian taxpayers are spending millions to build the venues for the event and they're up in arms that their local brewers are being shut out.

Hell, I'd be pissed if was a fan at the venues. Let's see: Drinking fine local Bavarian brew or Clydesdale piss.
I'm sure Bud will serve Michelob Double Bock or some swill like that in an effort to appease the locals with its "hard stuff." Pass the f*cking barf bag my way.
This would be like serving Benihana as the official food of World Cup 2002 instead of local cuisine.
Beer drinkers are getting the shaft. The almighty dollar speaks first, as it always does in big-time sports. But the almighty dollar also is the lifeblood of big-time sports, as I know when I go to work every day in the sports biz.
Take care,
PK
