Sports scores sent to cell phones?

Post by Parker »

Anyone know if there are services that will send you the latest sports scores via a text message to a cell phone or to an email address? I can get email and text messages on my cell phone, but I can't browse web pages.

I don't know if there is any sort of global service available that would send the info to your phone regardless of the service provider that you use. I do know that certain wireless providers offer the service. I have it with Verizon. Check the website of you provider real good, you may run across such a service right there in house.

Parker,

Both ESPN (if you're an insider) and CBS Sportsline will both send scores to your phone. You can set it up by team and you can decide how often (1st quarter, 2nd quarter, half, final, beginning, etc.). I personally use ESPN because I'm an Insider, but I used CBS for a long time and they were pretty good too.

Thanks, I went with the sportsline one. I looked at ESPN and CBS a while ago for this, I don't remember the sportsline being free then (except for text messaging charges).

Yeah Sportsline has always been free. I used them for like 4 years before I got the ESPN subscription. It seems like ESPN is a little more reliable, but neither are perfect at all.

I get them via ESPN insider too. Can't complain.
