Fight Night 04 ?

This is my first post here, so hi everyone. Bdoughty turned me on to the forum and I have been lurking tonight. It is refreshing to see a forum full of adults posting <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_biggrin.gif"> Anyhow... What do you guys think of Fight night?
 
 I have been following it and I am torn as to if it will be any good or not. I don´t think EA has made a really good boxing game since 4-D boxing which I LOVED!
 
 It still looks like an analog masher to me but the new videos at TeamXbox look promising.. any thoughts?

Great to see you post. I know I am looking forward to Fight Night. Only real complaint is the lack of top (current) boxers in some of the divisions (lightweight comes to mind). Will have to play it to see how well the multi analog sticks come into play.

Welcome to DSP. I´m approaching Fight Night with guarded optimism much like I did with MVP 2003. No boxing game has thoroughly impressed me. Rocky came close but still the lack of responsiveness has been missing in recent boxing games. Just from what I´ve read, it sounds as though Fight Night has that innovative feel with quick responsiveness. I´m definitely looking forward to renting it, but with all first titles, I can´t help but feel there will be some glaring issue with it.

I might be interested because of the online support. However, it´s more of a wait and see thing, especially on the question of how it plays online because if it is a button masher or requires a lot of fast button pushing, that might not work too well.
 
 Plus if the baseball games are any good, this game could be overlooked.

 I´m definitely picking this one up. I have my fingers crossed for this one, as I haven´t played a good boxing game since greatest heavyweights for the genny!
 
 Anyways, I´ve liked what I´ve seen sofar in the videos that have been out. I think this one will follow in the footsteps of nba/mvp 2003 (lackluster series revamped back to respectability, but maybe still a year away).

I finally got around to watching the videos of my boy RJJ...damn. The game looks tight as hell. Obviously the gameplay is going to be the biggest issue. We shall see if EA can move away from the button mashing that plagued their OTHER boxing game.
 
 BTW, welcome...we´ve got a great bunch of guys here for the most part.

There hasnt been a boxing game I have liked, I hope this one is good, been waiting a long time it seems.
