Game info: http://store.steampowered.com/app/715800/Check_Your_6/
I'll be streaming this tonight around 9pm CT if anyone wants to stop by and check it out. I've literally not even started the game yet so this will be a first time experience type thing.
Appreciate any follows on twitter and youtube as well.

I got interrupted in the middle of my stream which was kind of boring as this is not really a stream type game but here it is.

Dan I read your review and no surprise as it's Slitherine, that seems to be how they sell their games. A minimal game for $30 then they sell extra campaign packs for $10-15 each. I purchased Panzer Corps many moons ago and bought the base game for $30 and after I was done with buying all their campaign packs, I had spent well over $100.

To be fair, Slitherine makes fun games that combine relatively easy playability and just enough realism to keep it real. Good "beer and pretzels" war games.
I played the living sh*t out of Commander: Europe at War on the PC about five years ago.

Yes they seem to be hit or miss. They took their mobile design philosophy to the PC. It's hard to tell who is really behind this game because it's got 4 logos on it.Rodster wrote:Dan I read your review and no surprise as it's Slitherine, that seems to be how they sell their games. It is based on a board game and I guess a really accurate recreation of the game there is just not enough content. The main problem is no skirmish mode or scenario editor. I haven't tried Mp yet so no idea what that offers. I've already played all 7 missions as the Allies and there is no real strong pull to play as the Germans. The AI seems mediocre as I beat all 7 missions first try, but I am pretty good at these game on the table top.
Now if you want a suggestion on a great game like Panzer general but much better, it is the Order of Battle WW2 series. First the main game is free (on steam) which lets you play 2 or 3 training scenarios and then the first mission of every mission pack. I got so addicted to this game I bought every mission pack. It is fantastic, I can suggest it enough.
As far as Check 6 goes I wouldn't suggest it to anyone until it drop to $20 or less and even then that is a stretch. Considering you can get the Wings of Glory starter set on Amazon for $54 and get a lot better play time on the table top it is kind of a rip off as is.

Yup i'm aware of OoB WW2 as I bought Panzer Corps because it's basically a remake of Panzer General which was my first war game I played which led me to The Total Art of War series.Danimal wrote: Now if you want a suggestion on a great game like Panzer general but much better, it is the Order of Battle WW2 series. I'm holding off on OoB WW2 until they offer the complete version like they did for Panzer Corps for $40.
