Rainbow Six Siege poker night

Post by Pete1210 »

OK - more than a few here posted interest in playing the game.

How about this Saturday about 10et?

If that doesn't work pick another night and I'll be there.

Well...sh*t. Now I have to buy the game.

If somebody has never played a second of it tries to join, is that alright? I won't have a clue what I'm doing, but the only reason I never tried it is because I don't really play with randoms.

IN.

And TC - It's easy enough to pick up and play as long as you're comfortable with shooters. which I think you are.

Oh, I am. Just remember Rainbow Six games being brutally unforgiving, so if a team is saddled with a guy who doesn't quite have the aiming nailed, or does something stupid like hit the wrong button and panic in a firefight, lobbing a grenade at the team's feet...probably not a good thing with no respawns

And you know just how serious and strict we are with our shooters around here too... :)

If anything, like most other shooters, it usually comes down to a map knowledge thing. And I would be surprised if anyone here has played enough to have memorized the map layouts.

No dice Saturday for me. I have a gig at 8.

But count me in for future RS Poker Nights. A vastly underrated game. The only problem with it is it's only four-player multiplayer, much like The Division.

Come on, Terry. You've been beyond tolerant with us mortals in nearly every other game. No way we're going to get steamed at you for a mistake. Plus you'll probably be around Level 47 in RS: Siege after your first week of ownership. :)

I have not played much. You can play coop against AI at different levels. I never tried PvP. I expect its a hardcore crowd.

So we have 3 already for Saturday. That's enough to get started. I think 5 is max for coop.

Got shot down by the wife

That almost never happens, but with 4 copies of Conan Exiles next week, a couple copies of For Honor early Feb, another couple copies of Ghost Recon in March, and then Mass Effect...she's telling me to piss off with an old game that I never bought to start with.

About a year ago, Spooky and I were probably the only dudes kicking the tires on this game, how intense and strategic it was, a bit different from your typical Rainbow 6 game of the past and very unforgiving if you deviated from your team orders.

Communication is a must in this game gentlemen, I sold the game unfortunately a couple of months ago for the second time seeing no interest here, but make no mistakes about it.

A DSP foursome would have a great time playing Siege.

Ended up only being a few minutes late but looks like it fell through? I'll try to do a little solo and find my bearings for next time.

I hung around for 5-10 min and then saw your post about being an hour late so I bailed. Sorry.

Maybe one night this week?

We started playing Siege about 10:15. It was fun getting back.

Any night other than Tuesday is OK with me.

I could definitely see that one being some serious fun. I spent most of the evening not having a clue wtf I was doing, and having "Recruit" as my only guy available...but it was nice of your buddies to show me the ropes, Pete. Appreciate it.

Sucks being the guy spinning in circles trying to figure out wtf we're doing while guys are in heated firefights. Seemed like 3 or 4 times I as in the completely wrong place...on the roof, in a second story room, etc. Yet others I'd be clustered in a small hallway with people and not be any use there, either. It definitely takes some coordination and teamwork, that's for sure.

But it was all fun, even when feeling lost.

Any night this week work best for those that can play? Also - any possible way we can start on the earlier side - say 9-ish EST?
