What's on your fall hit list?

Post by pk500 »

Fellas:

August through November is the most wonderful time of the year for gamers, when a ton of annual sports games and a bunch of blockbusters in other genres are released, all aiming at the almighty holiday dollar.

What's on your hit list of upcoming releases through Christmas? What games are you definitely buying? What games are you considering? What games have tickled your interest but probably won't open your money clip, at least not until a sale?

MUST
-- Battlefield 1 (Already purchased)

CONSIDERING
-- Dishonored 2 (I watched a new trailer last night, and this game is migrating quickly toward the MUST list)
-- Titanfall 2 (Great demo. But may wait for a Black Friday sale.)

TICKLERS
-- Sniper Elite 4 (I LOVED Sniper Elite 3. Finished it. But will wait for sale on this one.)
-- Steep (Always liked snowboarding games)
-- For Honor (Intriguing Ubisoft medievel combat game)

I'm also considering buying Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 and Forza Horizon 3 on sale, among recent releases.

You?

This is the first fall/winter that I'm really not looking forward to any games. Dishonored 2 is about the only thing I've got any excitement for, but the rest are just meh...bunch of rehashes and sequels to games I was fairly disappointed in (Watch Dogs, Titanfall, etc). So we'll see if anything else tickles my fancy in a few months, but right now, it's looking like the rash of awesome games that have ALREADY come out are gonna carry me through the winter months.

Horizon 3, F1 2016, Dirt Rally, Madden, Fifa, NBA 2k, Mafia 3, Battlefield 1, etc.

Too many games. I already got:
Madden 17
Forza Horizon 3
NBA 2K17
Gears of War 4

Will be getting:
Battlefield 1
Titanfall 2
COD Infinite Warfare with Modern Warfare remastered

Probably nothing else this year, outside of bargain bin Black Friday deals on older games I passed on.

Considering:

Skyrim

Steep

Pes 2017 or FIFA 2017

Currently Playing:

Madden, NBA 2K, NHL, Forza H3

I'll probably revisit MLB The Show in the coming months. The playoffs have me wanting to play the game again.

Then there's the games I need to devote some serious time to......(Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank, Red Dead Redemption).

I'm looking forward to November 11th, when I upgrade to the PS4 Pro. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have upgraded, but it'll be nice to have a new console.

Looks like a shooter-heavy season for me. Definitely getting Titanfall 2 and probably Battlefield 1 as well.

Good point. I'm already stuffed to the brim with F1 2016, DIRT Rally, Madden 17, NBA 2K17, Battlefield 1. The glaring gameplay weaknesses of FIFA 17 -- the game has regressed this year -- are pissing me off more and more, so I'll probably get PES 2017 and let my son have at FIFA without any interference from me.

You'll love PES 17.

Personally, my goal is to just plainly catch up with my rotation list. I got shooters galore, really enjoying Gears 4, I know I will be playing BF1 to death, Titanfall 2 is on my list too, the latest CoD, there's one more DLC remaining on my Battlefront where I'll try to reach level 90. Shooters wise, I am more than set.

Sports wise, I am all set too.

Haven't had time to catch up with F1 or FH3. So yeah, pretty happy with what I got and will be getting, so just finding time to play them all will be my goal.

PK Fifa got an outstanding patch today. Really tightened up game play. Dont know if it cures your niggles with it but definitely check it out.

Nothing on my list.

Thanks. Already checked it. Improved.

But I still think PES 2017 is a touch better offline. Just don't know if that's worth the lack of licensing, modes and stable online code.

My list...

For Sure:
1. BF1 - Dropped last night. Great game. Fun, beautiful and entertaining
2. Titanfall 2 - 10/28. Loved the beta and supposedly its gotten better since the beta.
3. The Golf Club 2 - not sure when the release date is.

Maybe:
1. Dishonored 2. I watched the clip Paul mentioned and it intrigued me. Looked pretty damn cool.
2. Watch Dogs 2. I didn't play the first one but the media on this one looks good. Graphically it looks
awesome.
3. Fifa 17. I joined the DSP Club last night so if I get into the game I'll need to purchase.
3. Any worthy Black Friday Deals

Down the Line:
Ghost Recon Wetlands - March. Looks superb

I'm with you, pretty much everything I expect to play is already out. Between PES, F1, and Horizon I probably already have more than I'll actually be able to play. I still need to try Battlefield 1 on EA Access, that could be one that I grab on a discount later. Steep could also be a sleeper, always appreciate something new and different.

I'm spending more time messing around with an old Sony PVM with 16-bit systems more than anything else these days, watching my son crack up playing NHL 94 is hard to beat.

I think I'm done after having picked up Madden, NBA, FH3, and now BF1.

I cancelled my Infinite Warfare / CoD4 Remaster bundle after having experienced BF1. I really loved CoD4 as it's one of my all-time favorite games, but I have 0 interest in IW and I've decided I'm not paying that price for the remaster.

EDIT;

Oh.. maybe the Skyrim Remaster. That looks sweet

BF1 is INCREDIBLE. It's so refreshing to play a shooter not set in the near future or distant future, filled with laser-guided this, drone that, ectoskeleton suits, etc.

The BF franchise has returned to its roots with BF1. So much fun, it should be illegal.

Totally with you on the lack of futuristic stuff in BF1...so refreshing is right. I've stayed up way too late the past two nights w/ the PC version. Nothing beats the mouse and keyboard control IMO, plus I can pump the graphics up to ridiculous levels. By far the most fun w/ a shooter I've had in a long time and it's also the best looking. It's incredible.

Co-Signed. Its so good. I remember thinking WWI(?) when they announced it and thought meh. Evidently EA thought the same until Dice showed them a presentation of what they wanted to do with the game and EA was all over it. The game is beautiful...maps are great. Nearly every game of Conquest I've been in has been tight as hell. Love the game.

Yeah...they kind of made the matches close by giving the losing team a big advantage. That armored train is a blast to sit in and just shoot down airplanes. Got a lot of kills in one match doing that last night.

I got in some huge ship (can't remember the name) in the bay last night and just unleashed hell on the enemy. It was awesome. The elite class kits laying around on the maps are FUN.

I was in a BF1 Conquest match last night in which we led most of the way. Then the other team captured a few points late. The score was 985-985, and we charged like hell to capture a decisive Conquest point. Failed just barely, losing 1,000-994. Epic match that lasted nearly 40 minutes with 40 guys on either side.

Yeah, Friday can't come soon enough for me to receive my disc copy in the mail. But I still have about five hours left in my EA Access trial, thank God!

Sorry for the thread derail. But BF1 is that good! :)

Picked up Madden, NBA and Fifa--the kids now play them more than I. Still haven't started a Madden franchise. Love the Show but Ive only gotten maybe 25 games in.

Maybe its 3 kids between 9 and 14 but I just don't seem to have the time. Or maybe the games are too realistic and I nitpick too much. Watched a video just now over at operation sports of NFL Blitz from 2000 and said damn that looks fun.

Don't laugh but Ive been spending a lot of my gaming time on the tabletop playing sports games. Ive got two hoops games I enjoy, a football game I like, several baseball, bowling and golf. Its old school I know but Im off the computer and having fun.
