Fellas:
I've used The Score as my go-to iPhone sports/scores app this year but have become frustrated at how slowly it loads. I'm seeking alternatives.
What app do you cats use for your phones, and why do you like it? Appreciate your smart input.
Thanks.

I use The Score and Yahoo Sports as well. I like the live instant feed of games being played with Yahoo Sports. ESPN app is bad.

I use ESPN for general score checking & notifications (like game start reminders & such). I'll use each league's official app (MLB, NBA, NHL) for deeper dives into games as they are going on. I used to use yahoo & the score, but just switched to espn one (can't remeber why anymore).

Score mobile is my go to app as well. Loads up just fine on my new iPhone 6.

I'm using a 4S with iOS 8.0.2, and everything loads slowly. But The Score was sluggish to load on iOS 7.1, too.tjung0831 wrote:Score mobile is my go to app as well. Loads up just fine on my new iPhone 6.

I've just been using Google now for months. Use the Ok Google command and the score I want is there. Over time the creepy algorithm learns what I want and I see the cards for pretty much any game I might want in the widget.

It doesn't really take that long. I've doing doing searches on Android L and Nexus 9 on my LG Pad 8.3 and I just saw on my Nexus 4 phone running Google Now that I had two cards. One says Android L is for licorice and not lollipop and another card was more info on the Nexus 9.RobVarak wrote:I've just been using Google now for months. I read that Google's end game is to provide the answer you are looking for before you even ask the question. Now that's creepy i.e. Minority Report.

ESPN gives you some granular control over notifications.
But you have to set up an ESPN account and login.
It will also send notifications of news events too, not just those you set up for the teams and games you're interested in.
You figure the big ones will always be supported, constantly revised. I had one called Sportstap but they stopped adding features a long time ago.
