I'm heading to Montreal and Toronto from Oct 27th to Nov 2. Any suggestions on what to do?
I have been to Toronto before when I was younger. Went to the HHOF and a game at Maple Leaf Gardens. I was hoping to go to a Leafs or Habs game but there is only a single home game between the two of them during my stay. It's a Sat night game vs. the Blackhawks so tickets are going to be astronomically expensive. How does one even go about getting tickets to a Leafs game other than Stub Hub?

Don't start dating a Canadian girl. Nobody will believe it's true when you return home.

You mean a French-Canadian girl.RobVarak wrote:Don't start dating a Canadian girl. Nobody will believe it's true when you return home.
Answering Laking's question, watching a hockey game in Canada is expensive no matter which city, unless you get a scalper deal 10 minutes after the first period of a game. The Beaches area is nice in Toronto although at that time of the year it starts getting pretty chilly. I use to live in the High Park area, it's pretty trendy, check the CN tower if you haven't yet, the Niagara Falls, Yorkville, King West for fancy restaurants.
In La Belle Province, definitely check old Montreal, take a leisurely walk along St Catherine's, museums are great, Notre Dame and don't forget to try the excellent smoke meat.
But of course, both cities pale in comparison to Vancouver.
Have fun and bundle up.

Drink Tim Hortons coffee and Upper Canada Ale. Eat poutine, ketchup chips and Coffee Crisp candy (all no-no's for me these days!). Relish how much Quebec feels nothing like North America.
Absorb and adore the hockey culture. Have fun.

Montreal has much better "ballets". At least from the parts of my bachelor party that I remember, that was the case.......
