Far Cry 4

Post by 10spro »

So pumped about this game that I pre-ordered it right after E3. Here's the second trailer.

When does it release? Summer is a tough gaming time for me. The fall....now that is another story :)

I want to climb that mountain. 8O

what a perfect setting. I felt Siberia (or similar cold weather locale) would be an appealing setting. However, assuming you can climb the mountain in backdrop, this is better. Variety

Can't wait!!!

There's a staggering number of adventures to extract from Far Cry 4, whether you chase the ones laid out by the game explicitly, or the ones that develop naturally as you take in the sights. It's another interesting and absorbing world to fall into, shoot through, burn and then guide to new beginnings. Far Cry 4 may have installed a despot, but it's still the undisputed king of the open-world shooter.

Looking forward to this, but no way I grab it until after I deal with Dragon Age. I can get my open world mayhem fix with GTA V for now.

I did the opposite. Getting Far Cry 4 today and DA:Inquisition later on. There's more MP potential for me in Far Cry 4 with the new 2 man co-op. And I skipped over Far Cry 3. Had it on PC, but barely played it.

Dragon Age could easily monopolize my gaming time for a month or two. I have too many new games sitting here at the moment for that.

Getting hooked up with a copy of this one from a buddy. Never played any of the games in the series before. Looking forward to trying this out...

2 man co-op??? I need to research this. Is it like co-op story campaign stuff? I am pretty much over the fake "co-op" survival modes that are now popular in most games.

Here's a review which touches on the co-op:
this is completely integrated into the main game and whatever the other person does is reflected back in their own save as well. They can’t help out in story missions, but beyond that almost the entire game can be played with two people, by simply pressing the D-pad and asking for help. The end result is the best co-op experience so far in an open word game. And although nowadays it’s always a lottery as to whether it’ll work at launch or not, once it does it’s sure to ensure the feature becomes a standard in any similar game.

A big part of Far Cry is taking over various enemy camps/outposts and that should be fun to do with a friend in co-op.

I absolutely loved FC3 to the point that I voted that beast as one of the best shooters then. The plot may change a bit here and the evil dude looks bad ass but the good old loot, stealth kill and destroy formula should keep everyone equally immersed in this wild open world.

Just get your medicines mixes early as you'll need them for sure throughout the game.

Far Cry 4 looks damn gorgeous from what I've seen so far and since I have played although not finished GTA V, I may spend more time initially with this beast first.

PS4 has a 1 hour trial of this game for what it's worth.

I downloaded it but it says I need to ask a friend for a key. That is some lame marketing there! Probably wasn't going to buy the game but I'm definitely not buying now!

The game is so deep that 1 hour into the game wouldn't really give any player a fair shot at completing a mission.

After six emails back and forth w ubisoft about my preordered PC version that won't activate I finally got in. Sheesh. All of these companies want to go strictly digital but none of them can figure the s*** out. Clearly that can never happen.

Love it so far.

-Driving is cool with auto drive.
-MASSIVE WORLD.
-Love sneaking past fully loaded compounds to get to where I'm going.
-I play with no sound (we watch TV on a big screen, while I game on a 2nd smaller screen) and I couldn't put on subtitles until AFTER the 1st part of the game. Pretty annoying.
-Saw my 1st Rhino.
-Controls can be a bit wonky. Still trying to figure out how to drop bait.

Can't wait to play more.

Also, i have 10 friend codes if people are interested. PS4.

Are the friends codes the keys to play the 1 hour free trial? If so, I'm interested!

I need to add my code to the game so I can send out invites. I'll do that tonight.

I'm not exactly sure how it all works.

Game is definitely difficult.. but in a good way.

For bait you have to select it in the radio dial and then at least on xb1 you throw it by pressing RB. Took me a bit to figure it out too.

I think I'm past all the story mode stuff and ready to dive into the open world.

The world is so awesome. You never feel safe and have to plan your moves carefully. Just a great game so far, really enjoying it.
