Here's another "I'll post about it but 98% of you won't care because you've moved on to the new shinies" post...lol. Yesterday, Deadfall got a demo on XBL. I had vaguely heard of Deadfall...quite a while back, actually, and wondered why they would put out a demo after all this time. After playing the demo level, I found it on XBL for 7.99, and picked it up immediately. The puzzles were awesome, and it sincerely felt like a FPS version of Indiana Jones. The full game has more than met my expectations. It's pure, pure fun...if you're into the Dr. Jones/Laura Croft temple raiding stuff. Honestly, it feels like a good Indy/Mummy hybrid, and I have simply had a ball playing through the story. The acting is campy, and some of the animations are pretty stilted, but the dude playing the main role (Alan Quartermain's great grandson) does a pretty decent Harrison Ford as Indy impersonation. But it's the locales, and the puzzles that are the star of the show, and they are, thus far, fantastic.
The MP was a ghost town, predictably, but I sure wish it wasn't. There are some legitimately fun and original modes of play in MP, and traps that can kill just as effectively as guns...maybe moreso. If you see an enemy going down a corridor that has a shootable 'switch' somewhere above it, shoot it, and anything from poison gas to fire breathing statues to ground spikes to projectile spears will take a brother out. It's hilarious to see when it happens. However, I was one of only two people I found online this afternoon; will try again tonight to see if more are there. It would have been a riot online with full rooms.
Anywho, just another 360 PSA about a really fun, engaging game that went completely under the radar. I thought it was an arcade title, but it was a full priced game at one time. At 7.99, if you need to scratch an action/adventure/puzzle/shooter itch that smacks heavily of Indiana Jones, this is a great buy.

I saw a preview of this a while back and thought it looked fun. Put it on my Steam wishlist, waiting for a price drop down to something like you got. I wasn't sure what to make of it's totally anonymous release though.

It didn't win over the review community, and that's another reason I didn't give it a real look. But if you are nostalgic for Indiana Jones in any way, this is so, so fun. I don't think most people would have liked it at a full price point, but damn...for 7.99 it's less than most of the XBLA games, and a helluva lot better than most, too.

Re: Deadfall Adventures...
Finished the single player...dammit.
This sucker could've gone twice as long (it was plenty long, but still) and I'd have been twice as happy. One of the most fun games I've played in a long time.
