Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

Post by tjung0831 »

Released on Xbox live today....demo is amazing. It's an old school dungeon crawler and the fun factor is off the charts. Looks like this will be a purchase for me tomorrow.

Bought it the moment it hit. It is, indeed, amazing fun. Think Baldur's Gate with guns. It's too bad we have to wait a month for online co op, but they tweaked the sp so it would play out differently from co op. And the first DLC story add on is free.

Best sp bang for my buck on xbl arcade yet.

This game was the perfect way to end the summer of arcade. This is the first time I've bought every game for the SOA but 5 very good games were released. This game seems like it will have tons of replay value going for high scores. I noticed the score Teal posted for the first level last night and thought I was on my way to beating it when I died late in the level and lost some points. I can't wait for online co-op!

Yeah, I gotta say that the 'posting friends scores online' stuff is about the best way to give legs to a game I've ever seen. Trials HD (which I royally suck at), Hydro Thunder, and now LC:GoL. I love that they give you several different reasons to keep diving into this gem of a game. 5 more DLC add-ons await, and I'll buy 'em all, because like RDR, this game friggin' rocks.

I've seen people clocking in at 6, 8, and 10 hours. Even if it's only 6 hours for most people it's well worth the $15. If you liked Diablo and Baldurs gate Dark Alliance you will like this game.

That's not too bad even at 6 hours, that's a typical TR game anyway. I'm downloading it now and if I like i'll buy it.

Just finished my first play through-damn, what a fun game! Makes me want to go back and repurchase Tomb Raider: Legend. Might just do that... :D

Tomb Raider Anniversary is even better than Legend, so I suggest grabbing that if you haven't played it already.

I'll buy LCatGoL as soon as it appears on the PS3.

Actually, Anniversary was what I was thinking of, not Legend. D'oh! The second playthrough is proving to be more fun than the first... :D

I'm going to download the game again. I finished the demo and thought the game was decent, nothing special. I'll try it again and see if it's better the second time around.

Just a heads up that there's new DLC up that is free for the first 30 days. I think it adds 4 more challenges. Also, online co-op has supposedly been added as well. :D

Anyone want to try co-op?

Does this game have the same "gameplay" and controls as previous TR games?
or is it a new take?

excuse my ignorance, but what is an "isometric" view?

The only "isommetric" I know is when you use one muscle against another in exercises.

Angled, top-down view.

Is the only way to get this game to download it via XBL? Is there a PC version too?
The demo is kinda fun and I was wondering if I should get the full game?

If you like he demo, the full game is well worth the money. It's such a great title. It's fantastic as both a co-op experience and solo. It's worth playing through both ways.

Yup it's a great little game. I bought it when MS had the spend 2400 points and get back 800 pts. The game sort of reminds me of Diablo. The other thing the game has going for it is replay value as it's really tough to accomplish everything in one play through.

I've decided to get it, but now I have to decide to get the 360 or PC version.
