Nobody lists the developer just yet. Really does it matter since it is a new IP? EA Canada could screw it up just as easily as Tiburon.
Forget worldwide servers. Have you played Top Spin 3? Oh man those cats in Europe take their tennis seriously and some of my worst beatdowns were from overseas and I am a pretty good tennis player. Give me fellow lazy Americans with limited attention spans any day.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh here is a long gameplay trailer. I do not know what to think really. They do a couple things fairly well (serve camera angle, sound of racquet on ball) but pretty much everything else makes me hope the (360/PS3) version of this game is totally different. I know it is the wii and everything needs to be cutesey and all but does the tennis ball really need to be that big? Really?
Oh yeah, link to the trailer

Personally, I like the look. I don't mind my videogames looking like games. The size of the tennis ball is a bit odd but I have to admit that I am guilty of complaining about not being able to see the ball in one or more tennis games so...
If this can utilize the Wii controls better than Wii Sports tennis then it will be great. Nice, simple, kind of cartoony, fun! I think this is the right move for EA.

I prefer more realistic graphics but something tells me that I will enjoy the gameplay of this game more than Virtua Tennis 09. The Tennis ball does seem larger than usual and heavier at the same time.
Other than Mac, everyone seems to have the same service motion, I haven't seen a slice shot in that video as everyone was pounding the ball. some animations need improving as well, if you see Sharapova hitting her forehand, there's no way she can muster all that power with that short of a swing. Maybe they can borrow it from Tiger Woods.

Which is why I'd rather see graphics like this than a lame attempt at realism. When games try to look realistic and they miss the mark, they look much more odd than just going with a more 'game' look.Naples39 wrote:
