To add to that, veiled personal attacks are also included. That's really the primary rule here. And again, I will lock the thread or ban posters if they don't follow this rule.1) No personal insults, period. Even if you think that a poster is the biggest moron on the face of the planet, I don't want to hear it. Do NOT insult other posters personally. Note that this doesn't mean that you can't disagree with a poster, or that you can't say that you disagree with their argument, point out flaws in their argument, etc. "Your argument makes no sense because x, y, and z" is fine. "You give imbeciles a bad name, you deranged lap dog of the hippie Dems/imperialist pig Repubs" is not.

OT: Election/Politics thread, Part 6
Yes, I'm opening up this thread again. It's been locked for a week, the elections are in a week, and I figure we can be civil enough to each other for a week. I also know some posters have wanted this thread back open before election day, so as an olive branch to them, here it is. As before, the primary rule is NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. This is what I said at the beginning of thread #4:

Atta boy!
Just tell your wife that if she voted for Obama as a resident of Texas, her vote also is wasted. Dude has about as much of a chance of winning the Lone Star State as Syracuse has of making a BCS bowl this season.
Take care,

Does the game have a socialism slider? I think the socialism settings are too high under an Obama administration.Naples39 wrote:I hear Fallout 3 simulates the 'liberal apocalypse' wrought by an Obama presidency.Brando70 wrote:The politics thread was just to hold me over until Fallout 3 arrived.

In before the lock
Anyways...one week to go! Will be interesting to see how things pan out compared to how the polls have been running. I am praying that this election is not close enough to allow for any "funny business" than could steer things in favor of either candidate. I just want a clean, fair election. (Hey I can hope, can't I
I guess everyone has heard about those skinheads they caught plotting to kill Obama and a bunch of African Americans. Those lowlifes deserve to be put away forever. I can only imagine what a horrible state this country would be in if something like that did happen. Might ignite racial violence all over the place. Obama responded to the incident by saying he has the best in the world protecting him and again appeared very "Presidential" in his respone (I know you hate that expression Teal
)
Anyways, should be an interesting last week. Obama has his national TV address tomorrow and Palin has been angering McCain's people by speaking on her own off-script and appearing with Elizabeth Hasselback at some rallies. They played some of Hasselback's comments on the Stern show and she is almost unlistenable. I am not sure it is helping Palin's rep by having here there. Anyways...good to be back talking politics again!
P.S. I was going to early vote this week, but the waits in GA have been reported at 2-4 hours and they said more people have already voted in GA than did the whole 2004 election. Great to see this turnout!

funny you should mention that Jack. Considering 98 percent of any funny business going on is coming directly from the camp for which intend to vote.Anyways...one week to go!
Oh and speaking about Hasselbeck being unlistenable? I don't know how she goes to work everyday. That must be HELL on earth.
Paul, she bleeds Republican blood. In fact, she deviated from that this year in the primary. She voted in the Democratic primary for Hilary to hinder Obama's chances. She told me not to tell her parents (very pro-Republican and ardent Clinton haters).pk500 wrote:James:F308GTB wrote:Voted Monday. I could remove Palin and add Obama very easily. You are right . No matter what . I don't care who's doing it...it's wrong and the punishment for anyone who in any way alters election results should be massive enough to deter anyone even thinking about it.PRBoom wrote:funny you should mention that Jack. Care to provide some factual evidence that 98% of this stuff comes only from the Democrat side?
Here's a question for all DSP posters.
How long is/was your voting ballot?
Here in Colorado, I just completed a 3 page mail-in ballot. 3 f***in pages.
I really hate the fact that here in CO, it's so easy to clutter the ballot with initiatives. Cali must have a 15 page ballot.

I hear in Fable 2, if you don't support your wife dies, social services take your kid away. No who's paying for that.pk500 wrote:Does the game have a socialism slider? I think Obama should offer the FIFA health care plan, you can only get injured for a week.
