And yet still no NBA Live 07 demo. :) They must feel that FIFA doesn't completely suck. 8)

OMG this game is so going to own.

Where to start, the graphics are amazing, The Ball Physics are truly amazing, Player Movement/Animation looks real. The AI even at Semi Pro is a delight to play.

I saw the AI even in Semi Pro try and take advantage of a bonehead move on my part. I pressed towards their goal, the AI contered my attack fire a long pass across the pitch got me 1 on 1 with Keeper and if it weren't for a realistic bounce that hit off the post which my Goalie was aware enough to trap the bounce i'd be down by one goal.

This already is shaping up to be the best FIFA game ever !

Let the Flaming Begin.

I, too, was impressed with the demo. The teams available to play with are Barcelona, AC Milan, Man U, Lyon, Werder Bremen, and Guadalajara.

I was a big fan of FIFA:WC, and I'm very much looking forward to 07.

I did see an improvement on Fifa 06 WC and the first thing I realized was that the ball physics was different. I am a bit worried about the different levels of play as in the other thread some people thought that even in the highest level, the game was on the easy side. Hopefully is not true for the 360. I'll be downloading the demo.

Personally I think the game looks fantastic. The animations are top notch. However, I do feel as if the ball in the demo is a bit too lively.

Props to EA for moving Fifa back in the right direction. I also am impressed with the CG version.

I don't know if it's the new dynamic camera angle, but the field seem to be bigger allowing you to more things with the ball. There's a slight delay in switching your players when you press the A button. Played the PRO level on a 1-1 tie between Man Utd vs Barca.

I played probably six games on the demo today. 3 Professional and 3 World Class. I also just messed around on the loading screen for a while and it seems that curling the ball is easier than in the past. The thru ball problem that seemed to plague FIFA WC seems to be gone. I think the volleying is just a step below WE and the ball physics seem to be close to WE as well. I think (GASP) that FIFA may be decent this year. At the very least, it will be next gen soccer to last till January or February for me at least.

I was impressed by the demo. Much moreso than my rental of Fifa World Cup a couple months back. The ball physics are excellent, and no longer do I see that static looking dribbling from the players. Also, when the ball is kicked high in the air, it doesn't have that dead weight feeling to the ball where it comes down real fast.

The animations are equally as nice. Dare I say they look as good or possibly better than WE. Maybe. I haven't played WE in a while though. I've seen a fair share of goals and they're all pretty varied. The CPU players has impressed me with the different shots, passes, and strategy.

I love the keeper saves where the ball strikes him and bounces up in the air as a scramble then takes place.

I tried playing on the Professional level, but got destroyed 3-0. I'm not one to comment on the difficulty, because it seems I'm having my troubles even on Semi-Pro.

All in all, I'm was pleasantly surprised. I'm going to keep my eye on this title and might just pick it up on release day.

Hey guys, don't know if anyone noticed but in that playable menu with Ronaldinho, if you push down (click) the right thumbstick you can take a free kick or a penalty shot (depending upon where you stand).

Are there any 'skill' moves? Anyone know how to fake a shot (without passing it)?

My favorite was the one where the shot hit the bar and bounced almost straight down, but still in play, and my keeper, now facing the goal, grabbed it with ease and ran right into the back of the net. The best part was how surprised he seemed to be when play stopped.

Overall, though, I was relatively impressed with the demo, and the ball physics were better than I had expected. I admit I may be tempted, just for head to head play. Maybe.

It feels an unrefined demo. It also feels a lot like NHL 2007. A lot of good concepts but too new to get things down.

Playing defense is just like NHL. It's non existant.

Plus it seems that the CPU gets a huge boost in dribbling. It's hard to take the CPU off the ball. Yet I can't protect the ball.

There's a lot too like, but I they tightened dribbling and defense controls.

Demo is not bad, you still get caught up in animation sequences it seems.
I thought defense is quite good Jrod positioning and stuff but you may be right about when you take control.
Some very sweet animations, Ai seemed realistic in a couple of cool situations , on one my defense was pushing up for the offside trap so instead of the cpu passing the ball to the guy who we just played offside it decided to keep the ball and take on my defenders splitting the 2 guys and going in on net. Very cool and it looked like the guy was actualy thinking.

It still has that awkward turn and shoot animation which does my head in.
Overall seemed good but the same as current gen no ?

Playing on Pro I didn't find that difficult taking the ball away from the CPU, the key is not to chase the CPU player but be in a good position. However once you do have control of the ball I hardly use the speed burst (only on markee players) as almost always you'll lose control of the ball.

Shooting wise I still think that all shots have the same amount of force no matter how hard you hit red button, and I want to hit more low shots as all my shots seem to be a bit high.

If you play the Ronaldhino menu you get a better feel of the physics, as running onto the ball then hitting it realy adds power and dunno if i was seeing things or maybe just getting used to the power of shots but if you held left bumper it seemed as if the shot stayed down a little.

Very impressive. The player control isn't quite as sharp as WC, presumably due to the new physics model, but everything else is spot on. The game speed has been toned nicely, the ball physics are excellent, and the whole thing looks beautiful. I'm also very impressed by how easy it is to differentiate between players, particularly their speed and their ball handling skills.

BTW, is the "no commentary" only on this demo or I am missing the announcers? I hope it'll come with a choice of Spanish, Italian and French other than English as WC didn't.

Wow, for the first time since 1998 I'm liking what I see. Finally, there does seem to be a difference in difficulty vs. the Mexican side or Barca. Finally, no cookie cutter player attributes. I love that the ball is no longer on a string.

Still, a few mostly cosmetic things bug me. There are some really boneheaded ai blunders. Hopefully that will get tightened up in the final version, but being EA you can't really assume they're going to do much testing. Something else that has always bugged me is the kit letters and numbers - they all use the same awful font and the names on back are too small. Rosters are WAYYYY out of date. The framerate on cut scenes is atrocious - it looks like something out of a Ray Harryhousen movie.

I'll definitely plan on picking this up if full version reports don't indicate any lurking problems, like the "money spot" in the current gen versions I've read about.

After playing this demo, the current gen version and WE, I can say that WE is still the best.

WE has had real physics for years. It also does a good job of showing off play abilities.

Some of my thoughts on the demo...

FIFA 07 Demo
+ Real physics.
+ Some player differentiation...still not where it should be.
- No team style. I don't know if you could gauge this from just this demo. Probably need the full version.
- Very rough around the edges. It reminds me of NHL 07. At its core, it shows promise but its not enjoyable.

If PES 6 can get rid of the cheating and design the game to show of player strengths and team tendencies, that will be a very good game.

At the end of the day, I think PES/WE will have the best gameplay and FIFA will have real league play. Like always we lose out.

I tend to think that if someone slapped the title "Winning Eleven" on the demo, people would be going bonkers about how great it is. Pretty much everything you can ask for is in there. Excellent ball physics? Check. Significant play differences between stars and regular players? Check. A wide variety of goal scoring possibilities? Check. Garden variety fouls? Check. And on and on down the line.

It plays very well. I'll just leave it at that.
