Madden SS Mode Thread

Post by RallyMonkey »

I thought with enough of us trying this out (and for some having it be their mode of choice) it might be fun/helpful to post what positions we are playing, what team, round drafted, etc. and most importantly for me, how the he** i can stop from sucking so bad as a QB.

But i digress, i created a QB who was drafted by the Raiders in Round 3. Midway through my second pre-season game i am at an influence factor of zero, zip, zilch. Starting to think the QB spot isn't for me.

Is it bad the game gave me a message that said maybe i should create a waterboy instead?

Anyway, look forward to hearing how all of you are doing. I suck, but i'm enjoying it anyway.

TCrouch is running the game in SS mode as a QB. I think the majority of complaints about this mode of play is the camera angles.

I made a HB who got drafted by the Panthers. My next game will be the first regular season game.

Created a WR that got picked in the 4th round by the Titans, played all the preseason and the first 2 games then got traded to SF.

I created a QB who was drafted by the Browns. My first preseason game was 11 of 23 for 187 yards with 1 INT and 1 tutty. I haven't had time to play my 2nd preseason game yet but I'll hopefully up the completion percentage and eliminate the turnovers.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I have a QB for the Chargers, 3rd round pick. Through the preseason I carried a 110 rating and 9 TD's, 0 INT's. When I got to the regular season I was hitting a 131.3 with 8 TD's and 0 INT's through 4 games.

Then I met the Steelers. 1 TD, 3 INT's, 104 yards...they had me completely baffled. I rebounded the next game, but for an extremely efficient season up to that point, they throttled me. The funny thing is, I was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week the week prior; against the Steelers, they simply sold out to stop the pass, and instead Tomlinson had free lanes to rush through all day long (189 yards on the ground, including a 77 yard romp on the opening series).

I really, really like being a QB, but lately I've been getting the hang of playing Strong Safety.

I think SS mode is okay. But if they would have added basic things like the actual draft process, contract neogations, a realistic progression system, etc. It would improve the experience quite a bit. I think it's a good idea and the play on the field can be fun but even that is bogged down by things like the influence meter.

And when I think about all of the time that could have gone into improving the general game I get pretty annoyed.

They should just make this into an entire new game that isn't so incomplete beause the idea has alot of potential.
