New NHL07 Xbox360 Screens

Post by Rodster »

Man I hope this game is good cause these new screen shots almost look real. Word coming from some of the Hockey Sim sites is that the 360 version will feature a sim style approach. I sure hope so cause right now this game is on my radar.

Can't remember the last time I said this about an EA game, but I'm really looking forward to this game as well. A lot more so than Kush's 2k game, at this point.

These are drastically different from the ones that came out around E3 maybe it was earlier. This look next gen.

WOW, the only thing that worries me is they are not from a "playing the game" view so I'm not sure they are taken from the game engine.

If it looks like this and plays halfway decent we may have to start up another DSP Hockey league!

You never know about EA and what screens those are from (hello Madden), but wow they look good.

Now THIS game could finally get me an Xbox 360. Especially because I know you guys will pick it apart. :)

These look on par with NBA 2k which suprisingly was the first game to stand out as looking "next gen". And NBA 2k looked good "playing the game".

Errr I thought these were screens of NHL 2k. For an EA game they look nice.

Agreed. While I can't help but reserve some skepticism as this is EA we're talking about and this is, we're hearing, a new engine (potentially better or worse); some of these shots are *incredible*.

I hope the game plays nearly as good as it looks.

i liked the last version...with sliders totally changed...

the season options sucked though... made it hard to do a "sim" season...

I am amazed at how good many of these screens look.

The preview seems to promise a lot. Here's hoping EA delivers.

I am still not sold on the "everything can be performed with the two sticks and face buttons" idea, but I'd like to see it work.

Interesting concept. Pretty intuitive.

I know it's a beta, but the animation still looks pretty choppy. Plus since it's an EA game, I have serious questions about the AI. You can have the most intuitive control scheme, most realistic puck physics and greatest graphics in the world, and it doesn't mean sh*t if it's mated to the typical horrid EA hockey AI.

I will remain very skeptical until I can try this game. Still, the control scheme looks quite cool, in principle. It's also very encouraging that the producer in the video last worked on the NHL series for NHL 2004, which is the only hockey game EA has released in the last 10 years that hasn't resembled a pile of festering rat sh*t.

Take care,
PK

You're right PK, BUT a definite system seller if the AI is decent.

Very neat concept indeed, I love the control scheme.

Unlike NCAA I hope there's more than one camera angle as the one in the video seemed to be a bit high, and one thing EA did well was the different camera options.

Maybe not me either, but another EA hype ring is getting me giddy. The controls really look fun and the game looks great.

Which makes this different from what other EA release ... ? :)

Well, I can think of one EA release in the last two years that didn't get much pre-release hype: Rugby 06, only the best game the company has made in a long, long time!

OK, I'll stop pimping. Sorry.
