It's Wednesday: Some ToCA?

Post by Zeppo »

Who's up for some racing tonight, starting at 10:30p EDT?

If we have enough, we may well do a good ol' MLR of some open-wheeled sort (F J-1000s at Donington? F3s at Castl Combe? 80s F1s at Spa?)

If not, we can do a mix of short stuff and end it with a 10 lapper at Spa in the 80s cars.

Or we can just race the 80s cars at Spa all the time :D

Game time decision for me.

If any of the early NHL games are in OT or the Dallas-Colorado game is hot, then I won't make it. If that's not the case, then I'll be there.

Take care,
PK

Depends on how long my post-basketball festivities last tonight. Probably out, though.

Chances are I'll be there. Plus I have a DVR, so that always is a nice fallback.

Take care,

Here's the deal: If Merv Tapper and Mitch Bacon are there, then I'm there. Just like Bluto said about Niedermayer and Gregg Marmalard in "Animal House:" "TAPPER -- DEAD. BACON -- DEAD."

Boys:

That was as good as it gets last night.

In nearly two hours of racing, I can't honestly remember one major incident between any of us that led to someone moaning at another driver. But I do remember a ton of wheel-to-wheel and nose-to-tail scraps in nearly every race.

Outstanding. Simply superb. It's a damn pleasure to run with you cats.

Let's do it again soon!

Take care,
PK

P.S. to Zep: Good call on the Caterhams. Those babies are fun as hell!

Hey, that was some great stuff. So little corn-holing on turn 1s! I credit that all to practice!

Those Caterhams are fun. The problem is, are there any circuits in the game that meet with the approval of the mighty Brothers Blade? Or is everything in the game 'gay,' except for Spa?

Is everyone starting to hate me with these 10-lappers at Spa in the 80s cars? I think if the game only included 10-lappers at Spa in the 80s cars, I would be happier than a pig in s***.

I would like to do an MLR series in the 80s cars, but I'd really love to have guys like Kruza, Fshguy (does Fshguy no longer have an Xbox? If so I aopolgize for the invite spamming - no, wait, no I don't!), Mix etc. involved. It would be fun to have 10 guys in each race.

Those 80s cars I think would be really interesting in the 1/2 hour races. I seem to get suspension damage just from hitting the curbs sometimes, and those tires wear pretty fast. I'm convinced that really smooth driving would help them last a lot longer, but I seem to be chirping all the time (really driving hard sometimes). At Spa 16 laps should be a 1/2 hour race. Maybe that's not quite long enough to force some to go for 2 stops, but it still would be pretty interesting.

The problem is that there are only 6 circuits for these cars. I don't hate any of them, but hey, this is me, I don't hate anything with a cahnge of direction!! There are other circuits in the Williams F1 Challenge, the one with all three different F1 cars, but whats weird is that the camera angles for the 80s cars are completely different than the cameras in the 80s cars' own championship. The tires are grooved as well, but I don't know how much differently they drive.

Anyway, this is all hopeful thinking anyway. Maybe I should just give in and do the MLRs with a field of seven or eight? In these 80s cars, I don't know if I would care as much; they are so much fun to drive and to race!!

Good stuff fellas...

I think that was the tightest and cleanest racing in awhile. There were some wrecks, but not of the cornholing type.

Too bad they gave you the shaft on Brands PK...that was the tightest race I've been in. 6inches sepearted P1 and P2 through the last turn and then they give you some mystery penalty....that was gay. Merv Tapper musta been the steward...homo.

I'm off WED-THU-FRI next week so I'll be in again!!!!!!!!!!!

Zep:

No, I like a ton of circuits in the game. Spa is my favorite, of course, but I'm game for nearly any track.

Take care,
PK

Yeah, I know. But there are some that seem to be universally reviled, like Shanghai (which I find very challenging), and Bahrain. I do wish Istanbul was in more than just the one class (DTMs).

Anyway, who says I'm not giving you s***! I love to hear you guys b*tch and moan about how lame a circuit is, as I zip by into first :D !
