That jeep ride was one of the funniest XBL movements ever! ;)

Particularly when you're driving them.

I know most of you guys avoid me whenever I get in a vehicle...any vehicle. I'm good at blowing them up but driving/flying - not so much.

Good times last night with RobV, Diablo, Teal and Naples. Let's do it again soon, boys! :) :) :)

True fun last night guys. PKs "light bulb" moments when he discovers a new gadget/weapon/kill opportunity are priceless. He can be in mid sentence and all of a sudden, "oh man! There's an f'ing tank right below me...right below me! I'm gonna blow this guy off the map!". And then he gets killed by the guy :).

I drive in the first person perspective, and had no idea that I pulled up that little jeep right into the cannon of a tank...lol. But I sure knew it when you started screaming... That, and all your other crazy ranting, was an absolute riot last night, man. Riot.

This gamer easily prefers BF3 to MW3:

Lot of fun last night with Teal, Rob and Danimal. We finally got the SOFLAM up and running and it was f'ing incredible! We were getting destroyed on Karg Island by bunch of Level 40/50 guys in tanks and choppers - couldn't get close to them to fire off a regular RPG or wait to get a Javelin lock so three of us set up on a hillside way out of the city, Rob sets up his SOFLAM and within 20 seconds the tank and a chopper were shrapnel. Awesome stuff but definitely only something you can do with guys you know/talk to/aren't shithead 12 year olds.

The only bummer is that whomever sets up the SOFLAM doesn't get any assist points.

OK, nomenclature 101 for this newb: What's a SOFLAM?

Sounds like a tender lamb chop to me. :)

Apparently it stands for "Special Operations Forces Laser Marker" - it's a recon class perk that's kind of like a remote control camera that laser designates vehicle targets and then anyone else on your team with laser guided missiles (Javelin or Stinger) can lock on and fire pretty much immediately and chaff and other countermeasures don't work because it's laser guided. Also, and I just realized this yesterday, using the SOFLAM you can use a Javelin (which usually only takes out ground targets) to take out a chopper.

Or....it could be tender lamb. Not sure. ;)

Yeah I had NO idea what that meant either. Sounds like a fun perk. What level does that get unlocked at?

100% agree with his assessment. My complaints are exactly the same w/ MW3, which is why I haven't touched my copy weeks.

It's in the Recon tree and unlocks after the second rifle, I think. It's a complete blast, but you definitely have to have coordination with the engineers. And as Macca said, it seems pretty weak in terms of points. All the Recon guy gets is a spotting bonus, which is harsh considering that you basically have to do nothing while you are locking onto targets.

There's an automatic mode, but my experience so far is that it has very limited range and never locks on to aircraft.

Just an FYI to all my DSP BF3 brethren - I changed my gamertag from 'Spooky Oooky' to 'BIG DISC0' (that's a zero on the end). So when you see the Big D jump into your party you know it's me.

(oh and I unlocked mortars last night so I think another session of Squad Rush against RobV is in order to celebrate).

Have fun with those. Keep in mind that when you deploy, you show up on everybody's map. Bad for extended sessions, but very good for luring people into ambushes.

Yeah, was having fun with them last night. I quickly realized that I show up on the map when I got mortar'd by an enemy. But then I respawned and mortar'd them right back.

The mortars work well to hit a specific spot or group of enemies, but don't get greedy. Move on after a few kills or when you stop hitting targets.
