The old Bernie would have come through in a couple of those spots. You just know Steinbrenner is sitting up there crossing off Williams in his payroll ledger and already spelling out B-E-L-T-R...
Man I love to hate Ortiz. I'll be first to sign him on my fantasy team again, though.

He's also spelling out P-E-D-R...
And Parker, I can't believe you're talking smack again. How about keeping your mouth shut until there actually is a Game 7. You would have thought that you would have learned by now. Geesh.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.
Parker just keep your f***in mouth shut. Big f***in deal your team won one game out of four played so far.Last time I checked yankees are still up 3 games to one and in the drivers seat and still will be even if somehow the Red Sox win tonight.I think I like my chances better with two out of three games at home and Mussina and Lieber pitching.Last time I checked your guys couldn't hit them.Man Damon does really suck it is almost like he is already thinking about golfing since he has done absolutely nothing so far. Some lead off hitter.
You changed your avatar yesterday and one win later you are back on the bandwagon and pounding your chest.
I would like nothing more than to see the Red SOX lose the series at home tonight.
Show some class and keep that mouth shut until your team wins game seven at Yankees stadium.

No, he is just the best player period.
No one can stop us now. We will do what no one has done in the history of baseball. Pedro tomorrow, Schilling in game 6, and Arroyo in the finale who has dominated teams on the road.
The Yankee bullpen is a depthless joke...I almost choked when the Fox announcer said theirs is deeper. There is no Yankee reliever I'd rather have in our bullpen besides Gordon and Rivera, and we own Rivera anyway. Quantrill and everyone else are bums. They should throw El Ducky in there, he would be an excellent reliever since he can't pitch effectively for more than 4 innings.
Just when you thought he was out...they keep pulling him back in!
It took all of 24 hours to revert back to the same guy. Can there be any question why we "love" Parker so much?
Are you sure you're not a politcian with all the flip-flopping?
First of all, great game by the Red Sox last night. The Yankees certainly had their chances but couldn't come through and Red Sox did. They got to Rivera again and kept themselves alive. Hopefully the Yankees will close it out today and don't have to go back to NY for game 6.
Now, to get back to your comments...quite laughable. Ortiz is the best player in the game? How can a guy who exclusively DHs be the best player in the game? Please. A great hitter, but not the best player. And not even the best hitter by the way.
It's also pointless to argue with Parker regarding the rest of his comments. He has proven in the past to ignore all semblance of fact and logic. He either ignores the parts he can't contend with or just reponds with nonsense that doesn't make sense or is incorrect.

Well said.I think we should just let Parker do his childish rants and not respond to him anymore with posts. He is like a child doing things to get your attention, just ignore it and they will stop.

Who out of the hitters left in these playoffs would you rather have up in a clutch situation? Pujols for the NL, and Ortiz for the AL. Don't even say Sheffield, because Ortiz had better stats and was just as clutch all year. Ortiz may not play much 1st, but he would if he was in the NL, and Pujols is not exactly a gold glove player.

I present to you Hideki Matsui, maybe you have heard of him:
Yah, let's choose the guy for his performance over 4 games. If you want to go that route, Ortiz is the only player ever with 2 walk-off homeruns in the same postseason. Not all rbi opportunities come with the game on the line.
In any case, Matsui had a good year, but not the calibar of Pujols or Ortiz.

Please set a guideline, season, situation type, playoffs, which is it? You're all over the place there.

No, I'm saying in any situation, you would be a fool to want Matsui up instead of Ortiz.
But my guidelines are simple. How many times has a hitter come through with a chance to win a game. Ortiz did it more than Matsui all regular season. And now Ortiz has set a record by doing it twice with homeruns already in the same postseason.

And yet Matsui will have a few more chances to do it in the World Series, while you and Ortiz are jerking each other off in the restroom of a run down Boston pub.

I'd take Matsui over Ortiz against a tough lefty, but otherwise I'd favor Ortiz.
Not a big difference vs lefthanders. Neither are as good vs lefties as righties. Matsui hit 265 this season with 6 homeruns, but Ortiz hit 250 with 10 homeruns in almost the same number of ABs. I'd still take Ortiz who took a lefty deep for his first walk off homer. Also Ortiz's OBP is 8 pts higher than Matsui vs lefthanders, he will draw more walks.

Let's put this in context okay. Ortiz's homers were in a tie game where Boston led 2 games to none, and in a tie game where they trail three games to zero. If Boston comes back, sure they are huge, but if not they are irrelevant.
P.S. I guess you already forgot Matsui's double of Pedro in game seven last year, a series that Ortiz batted .167 in mind you.

Last I checked, someone named Boone won that game.

Right now, no one's better than Beltran. He's clutch.
Yah, but the smart money would say Ortiz has a better chance of staying hot. He has been remarkably consistent all year. Plus I think Beltran benefits from batting 2nd in the order. You can't exactly be too careful with him with the hitters ahead of him and no one expected him to be quite this hot in the playoffs. Everyone is pitching very carefully to Ortiz and he still is winning games.

Wait a min...I thought Boston had the most potent lineup in baseball? If that's the case it shouldn't matter where a hitter bats. He's going to have protection in front and behind him.
You're a walking contradiction Parker. Make up your damn mind.

He's like the Rowdy one...just when you think you have all the answers, he changes the questions. There's no debating with someone when they constantly change the context of the very argument you are debating. And wears Boston goggles to boot.
