Ever heard of Paypal?

Anyway, someone doesn't sound too confident in their beloved Suns :)
How about a non-cash bet? Like the loser has to sport the other teams avatar for 2 weeks? Are we on?
No.
Geez, whatever. I was just trying to have some fun. But if the Hawks can just beat a talented team like Phoenix, that will be reward enough :)
We shall see.....it should be a fun game to watch. Two uptempo teams that like to score a lot and score fast. ESPN at 8pm...I will be watching!

Phoenix is an uptempo team - 4th in pace. Atlanta is not - 20th in pace.

Where are you getting this stat from? I watch the Hawks every game....they like to play a fast tempo, which starts with defense. Sometimes they get bogged down in a half court game, but that is not their strength.

Pace info is from Hoopdata.com.

From what I've seen (not every game, or even close) they run when they can, but don't push off made baskets or take as many quick shots as they have in the past (which I attribute almost solely to Josh Smith not shooting ill-advised threes). They also play defense; this forces other teams to take more time getting their shots, thus limiting the number of possessions overall.

If you check 82games.com, you can see % of overall shots by time on the clock. Atlanta takes 61% of their shots in under 15 seconds; Phoenix takes 70% of their shots in under 15 seconds. That 9% makes a big difference when you look at pace.

The Hawks are really efficient when they do run, and they take good advantage of their opportunities. I just wouldn't call them uptempo. Opportunistic and effective is a better descriptor.

Still faster than my Celtics who are 22nd in pace but, like the Hawks, are really good at taking advantage on the break when they get the opportunities. i think both teams also run the secondary break very well, with big men who run hard toward the rim for the second pass when the guards and wings draw the defense. Horford and Perkins may not be the fastest guys but they do sprint every time.

As a Hawks fan I hated the shot but liked the result.. Thought they could have gotten a better shot with that much time left.

Don't think the Hawks deserved to win, but maybe this Karma on the Cleveland games...

Well apparently the Suns didn't want to win either...running Dragic, Lopez for that long is a disaster. Lopez particularly. When Frye, Richardson and Barbosa don't even hit the floor in the 4th, I gotta believe they didn't want to win. And f*cking Amare and his horrible clutch free throw shooting is driving me nuts. The Suns are NOT a good team. The past two weeks have seen them blow games every way possible. I wouldn't get too excited about it as a Hawks fan...that's for sure.

I agree, they should have designed a better play with 3 secs left. Jamal had a hand in his face and shot that thing 50 feet in the air. The Hawks missed about 5 layups to start the game and then didn't score for the first 5 mins of the 4th qtr or this game wouldn't even have been close. Credit to Amare for playing a great game. He really brought it. Al Horford had a monster game and Josh Smith was also huge. Its nice to win without Joe Johnson having to score 35 points for a change. What a game!

Amar'e was terrible. What game were you watching? He shot like 9-21 and missed crucial free throws down the stretch. He had a lot of rebounds, but only because the Hawks shot terribly and there were a ton to get...how many offensive rebounds did the Hawks have? Yikes...I guess we watched different games.

28 points is pretty damn good. He had a great 2nd half and 9/21 is almost 50%. Plus 14 rebounds. Geez...what more you want out of the guy? I guess he could have made that last foul shot?

Suns are a good team. To push the Hawks to the limit on the road like that, you have to give them credit. Hawks are very tough to beat at home.

I would like him to hit his free throws in the 4th (he missed three) and I'd like him to rebound better (he only gets the ones that land in his lap) and block a shot or two. He simply has to block at least one shot...he had a big ZERO. He was slow rotating numerous times and his help defense is garbage. You're just like most NBA fans...lets look at scoring and rebounding, but you don't take into account the little things that win basketball games. Those are the things Amar'e does horribly and it's frustrating as hell.

If the last inbounds play for the Suns was designed to get the ball to Amar'e, then they have the worst coach in the history of the game. To not get the ball to one of the best, if not the best, free throw shooter in the game today, is just a crime.

It certainly did not look like Nash was suppose to get the inbounds. Horrible.

I was also amazed that Nash didn't get the inbounds pass. Set a double screen for the guy if u have to, but get the ball in Nash's hands whatever it takes. If they did that, Suns probably win or at the worst, go to O.T.
The guy is automatic from the free throw line.

Well look who's coming to play on the Prican Pro League?

Employee #8!! lol!

Antoine Walker has signed to play with the Guaynabo Mets (along with Marcus Fizer).

Hope I can meet him when my boys (Bayamón Vaqueros) visit the Mets.

"I make baskets..."

AWESOME TRADE!!! :D

We keep Hickson and hopefully Z's back in thirty days. So basically we get Jamison for a draft pick. What's not to like?

After what the Tribe's dealt away the past few years, it's GREAT to be on the other side of one of these fire sales for a change! God bless the NBA and its salary cap structure!!!!

I'm just glad the Cav's didn't get Amare!

Jamison is a good grab for them, but I dont think he will make that much difference.

Here we go again Scotty boy!

HAWKS vs SUNS in Phoenix

Preview:
http://espn.go.com/nba/preview?gameId=300219021

Should be a good game. Both teams have almost identical records, both home and away. Slight edge has to go to Pheonix though, with the Amare speculation now over, he and the team should be more relaxed now. I anticipate a close game all the way to the end. If the Hawks front line can somehow contain Amare & Co and get some rebounds, they have a chance.

GO HAWKS!!!! Image

Well Knicks got huge cap room. I'm hoping LeBron, Wade and Bosh all reject them, would be hilarious.

But the endorsement opportunities in NY would no doubt be huge. Especially if one of them can turn the Knicks around.

None of them have singlehandedly carried their teams to the championship. Wade was the man but Shaq was still a force and let's face it, they handed the Heat that championship.

If LeBron doesn't win it this year, the conclusion may be that he can't carry role players, he has to play with another superstar.

I'm so glad you just wrote Lebron's ticket out of town this summer. Way to jinx it. LOL. Will you still be saying "God bless the NBA" at that time?

Wade definitely will. And if LeBron turns down NY, the Knicks should wait for Chris Paul. What difference is another year, at this point

Hawks I thought played pretty bad and still only lost by 8. If they got ANYTHING at all from Bibby & Marvin Williams, they win going away tonite.
