Wasted talent...
I feel for the Dolphins organization. They gave him another chance, and he screws them again.

Yeah but the leagues which have money problems, like the NHL, are the ones which have more strife.
Reading more into this, I find it's about sharing luxury box and PSL and other types of revenues which some affluent teams get to keep for themselves.
So even though the cap is going up by at least $10 million to $95, it could be at least another $10 million higher if the new CBA accounts for some of these currently non-shared revenues.
Either the teams were counting on a big increase in the cap or they just managed the cap badly and now all these vets are being cut. What seems crazy is that some of the salaries being cut are like $3.4 million for Sam Madison I think and $1.85 million for some other starters. These don't seem that big.
The story is that 8 or 9 rich teams are holding out against sharing their luxury box revenues. These teams include the Redskins, Cowboys and Patriots.
If the other owners agreed to share those revenues and enter a new deal for the CBA, these owners might sue to block the deal.

Isaac Bruce a salary cut by Rams...
Rams are 10 mil under current cap. Bruce and Rams couldnt agree on the amount of his pay cut(Yes the were negotiating his pay cut).
Though he slipped last year(alot due to his toe injury and Bulgers injury) I still think he can be a great #2 for someone..
Hopefully they will still work some thing out. if Not.
Bye bye to My favorite receiver ....
Oh well ....I still have Warner to Bruce TD!!!

I'd take Bruce on the Skins in a second. They will get a receive, but who knows who it will be.
So the inevitable has occured and LaVar is no longer a Redskin. I am heart broken, but was resigned to this. Well, mostly resigned, I still had hope that things were changing. He has become more mature, and the last half of the season you'd think everything was looking up. But his contract was insane, and he still is far too undisviplined to be anywhere near as effective as his talent would indicate.
Now of course I'm on egg shells, waiting for someone other than the Giants or Eagles get him. Or God forbid, the Cowboys. I don't know what would be worse, the Giants or the Cowboys. . .
Grrr. I hope he goes to some AFC team.
And then the other big question is where does Ramsey end up and what do we get for him? Probably not more than a 4 which blows since he was the last pick in the 1st round for Spurrier. Good old Spurrier. . . . We'll still need a backup, as no 2nd year guy will be Gibbs's backup.

I've heard some people say Curtis may be better at this point.
Curtis might be better at this point. He is definately faster but I know a receiver that runs perfect patterns and can catch almost anything when I see one. Nothing wrong with a 9 yd reception on 3rd and 8 is there?XXXIV wrote: Though he slipped last year(alot due to his toe injury and Bulgers injury) I still think he can be a great #2 for someone..
I heard this same old man garbage when the Rams let Ellard get away to the Redskins. He just kept right on rolling...
Some teams actually like to have more than one or two receivers. I know as a Niner fan you have given up on football but I havent.

Bruce may still be able to have good seasons but some teams will probably try to lowball him, try to get him to sign for veterans minimum with incentives. As opposed to giving him a contract with a sizeable signing bonus.
49ers have cap space. We'll see what they do if there's this great release of FAs.
It's not like the Rams are burning up the league. Who swept whom last year?

As long as there is a cap and they are sharing the rest the NFL is looking good....
I think this was the deal proposed by the players...
Just goes to show why the NFL is the smartest pro sports league in the country. They certainly pushed it to the brink, but they didn't decide to destabilize the league to make a point. The league will remain stable, a lot of teams will have money to retain their stars (great for the fans), and the owners and players will still get rich.
