That sucks about IRNV and AT mines -- I am heavy user of both -- but I agree they are overpowered. Six AT mines with the explosives upgrade is still a lot of firepower.

All this talk about weaponry that I've never had the pleasure -- or skill -- to use. But I'm sure it's been used against me many times as the resident Battlefield 3 pinata.

I need to get on the Battlefield soon!

While it sorta sucks about the mines (at least for Rob, it does :lol: ), I understand nerfing the infinite mines thing. I enjoy getting a kill on someone via mines, but it was crazy how many mines littered the field toward the end of a match. At least they don't go away right at death. What I want, though, is for the mortars to have a bigger splash damage. It's nuts for a mortar to hit 5 feet from a PERSON and it not kill them.

I agree that infinite mines was crazy, but given the number of AT rocket hits that it takes to knock out a tank I think there needs to be some compromise made.

Increasing AT rocket damage to no more than two hits, and limit the speed of engineer healing. That'd do it. Or, at least, if the engineer is on the outside of the tank, make the splash damage kill him, no matter where the rocket hits.

See I think that's too much in favor of the infantry. Tanks should be tough to blow up. Plus you can already get a two-hit kill with the Javelin and I think a tank can be destroyed with three rockets if hit from behind.

Gotta love the last clip of the trailer;

I've always been a COD man, but I am feeling pretty good about sticking with BF3 for the vast majority of my shooter time this year.

It's definitely a very good game, and I haven't even touched the SP yet.

I think you have to look at it as more than a shooter though. You have to understand the other mechanics and things going on (vehicles, special equipment, team actions, spawning systems), or else it will be frustrating.

Agree. The learning curve is a lot steeper than CoD, but I think it's more rewarding. The nice thing is that even if you're not a great shooter, there are lots ways to contribute to your team winning.

I still have a soft spot for Ghost Recon 2 and the original Operation Flashpoint on the Xbox, but BF3 is one of the best online shooter experiences I've enjoyed on a console.

I SUCK, and I still love it. That's the sign of a great game. :)

All joking aside I wish I knew why my PS3 downloads are so slow and my PC and 360 are as fast as my connection.

Well I just unlocked the INRV scope for the SCAR and proceeded to score 15-8 in that round. Guess I'll be bummin' too when it's nixed after the patch. :(

The shame is that the scope makes the game more fun. I mean it's unbalanced to the other scopes, but I think quicker target recognition is just more fun rather than straining your eyes to find people sprawled out or in dark corners. Makes camping much less effective, and rewards players for pausing to look down their scopes, which is one thing I've always liked about COD.

I know I will get grief from you guys but the changes they made are for the better IMO. In the end it is a game and I'm not expecting perfection but it's nice to bring the weapons a little more in balance and the mines thing was just ridiculous to begin with.
