I'm enjoying the hell out of the game. I think the pitching and batting interface is better than The Show, and I actually like the announcing better also. In the Show I like the manager mode, and the RTTS option. Those are what sets it apart for me.

As far as realism, as soon as the game lets me bat that gets thrown out of the window. I have Baseball Mogul for when I want to play a sim. When I pop on my 360 I'm playing a game. There is no accuracy in the stats at all, because it's not the players batting, it's me.

Sure the game has some bugs, but it plays a good game of ball and is fun. So many folks are so eager to jump on it for every little thing that it just gets silly.

If I had a PS3 I'd probably get The Show, not because 2K9 is so terrible but because I like the manager mode and RTTS (which I can at least get on my PSP). But for flopping on the couch and just having fun playing ball, I think 2K9 is a blast. And The Show just isn't worth $400 to get a PS3.

I don't like the exclusivity thing, at all. I like to have a choice. That being said, it's still not enough of a thing to ruin this game for me. Doesn't happen all the time or anything, and it's not like some crazy thing like that hasn't happened before in other games...
Exactly, stop being a drama queen Rod.

Look at my precious (MLB 09).

First, as the original poster of a glitch vid in this thread, let me start by saying it wasn't my intention to cause the thread to degenerate into ripping and game comparisons. It was honestly the first thing that popped up in my YT search and I found it funny. BTW, good finds on the MLB09 glitches too. Funny stuff.

That said, while I frequent OS, I didn't catch it there and since I can't get there at work, fill me in on the punchline... was it you?

Is anyone able to keep the AI from scoring lots of runs without lowering all the batting sliders way down? I am struggling keep my opposition below 10 runs a game.

I use BFJ's Version 2 sliders from 2kshare & most of my game are 6 AI runs or less.

Playing on Pro. What about you?

Are you using anyone's sliders or have you made any slider ajustments yourself?

The PC version is getting a patch. :)

(2K Admin Ron)
Hey all,
To confirm what many of you have suspected by my other postings, we are going to have a second update be released in the coming weeks and a first one on PC that will encompass the day one update that was released on the consoles. There is no set date but I hope to have a better idea of when that will be late next week. The patch will address many issues, but most notably the AI batting aggression and the ease of home runs in online mode and certain difficulties. Those are the only ones I can confirm at this time. Thanks to those who posted in the Patch Fix List, I will be closing that list now. Please let me know if you have questions about the patch and I will do my best to answer them.

Me too.

This game has warts.. like my fielder sometimes going into a slow animation and misplaying a ball.. but the glitches are few and far between for me so far.

The first baseman glitch happened to the CPU tonight, thought that was kind of funny.

As a total package though, I'm really liking what I'm seeing - it's not ootp like as far as stats go.. but I love everything they have been able to improve in this game. The replays are great, hitting is fun, pitching is a blast, commentary is top notch, I could go on......

I'm 2-2 on AS so far and each game has been different.. for me, that's all I can ask for.

I didn't see as many line drives right at the fielders and diving catches by the 1st and 2nd basemen tonight. That was beginning to be a big problem for me. I can't wait for opening day rosters.

The great thing is I'm seeing doubles and triples. I'm not striking out as much, but at some point, I'll raise the pitch speed.

Anyone play on legend? I was thinking about playing one game just to see what that level is like.

Oh.. and what's up with that damn ticker all of a sudden? That is getting turned off for sure.

Noticed the 'blank ticker'. Not sure of the deal. I know they have Ticker options, but I've never seen it in-action, yet.

I noticed the ticker last night as well and couldn't seem to find a way to turn it off mid game.

I tried BFG's sliders and had a much lower scoring game. I lost 3-1. It's weird that on default PRO I get hammered, but with Joes's sliders, I get a lower score.

Question.......is there a way to use these sliders in FRANCHISE mode?
thanks

Yes, just load them before starting your franchise. If u already started your franchise, you may be able to load your franchise, then load the sliders settings, then re-save (but I haven't tried this yet).

If you already started a franchise, there is no way to load sliders. You'll have ot manually edit them. Classic pen and paper approach. ;)

I noticed the ticker too last night, and even better, it seemed to not update at atll. I was playing around 9PM, and it was still telling me the Sens game was in the first period when it was almost over.....
