If they do switch, I agree they have to stay with Griese for the remainder, unless he does a Jonathan Quinn impersonation. And while he won't inspire a lot of highlights, Griese is a decent game manager.Danimal wrote:Bottom line Grossman is terrible as of late. You want to make a switch then be prepared to stay with it and ride it home, because this horsecrap I've been hearing about letting him sit a few games and if Griese doesn't do well come back to Rex is bullshit. You think he is pressing now, put him on the bench for 3 games and then come back to him by default and see what happens.
The thing is, the Bears have a real shot to win the Super Bowl if they cut down their turnovers. If I thought they would only have one or two turnovers in a playoff game, I'd feel confident they'd beat anybody on most days. The idea that you only need to score 10 points to beat them is misguided -- they are scoring points, either on defense and special teams or because the d is setting them up.
Grossman is the long-term answer, but I don't want to sacrifice a short-term shot at a title to help him develop. In this year's medicore NFL, I can see them winning it all with Griese. Of course, I'd rather have the Grossman we saw earlier this season, but if he keeps screwing up, I'm not sure they should wait.
