I know the problem. IMS changed a bunch of network settings in my machine last weekend when I was there working the MotoGP race, and I still can't access a healthy chunk of My Documents file either locally or on the IMS network.

Part of my iRacing installation is in My Documents, so the sim won't launch. No way I can fix it until our Help Desk opens tomorrow.

F*ck. Sorry.

Yep, having a blast with this league. We just need to get some more drivers. Terry needs somebody fast so he doesn't have to keep hanging back to race with me and Don. :D

I'm going to go home tonight - revolutionary idea, I know, but it might just work - and set up a 3 month trial. I saw Don's stats, I saw fastest laptimes from each race and I suddenly have to know whether I can get anywhere near them. I especially want to run the VTS at Mosport, since I love that place and I've never driven the car.

The big question is whether I'm 2012 Raikkonen or 1995 Mansell in the comeback stakes...

Uh....you'll beat the fastest lap times by several seconds. We weren't going for speed there

I completely forgot about last night! I was running around getting stuff together for a meeting this morning that will officially mean the end to my life as a stay at home Dad, and I ended up heading to bed early. I certainly would have jumped on if I remembered.

How'd the races go?

Pretty good. You were missed, though. Street Stocks at Oxford feels a little like racing Go-Karts around your living room. To go fast, I don't think you're more than half throttle for 90% of a lap, and Mix and Don had a pretty good battle there but I screwed them up. I came around and lapped them, but then on may lap 40 (their lap 39), I slowed down on the back chute and let them pass me back so they could fight it out on the last lap. They both thought the race was over and went flying off of turn 1 in some synchronized dust art.

Race 2 was cooler (MX-5 Roadsters at Mid-Ohio). At first Don was spinning a few times, so Mix and I hung back, then Mix spun so Don and I slowed down, then we all ended up racing pretty well on the last couple laps, until we managed to enter turn 1 in the final lap 3 wide and all managed to save it. Was an entertaining race, for sure.

My network problem is fixed. And it took just one click of the mouse -- 12 hours too late.

Next week!

Wow. I honestly thought setting the wheel up for a few laps would get me back into the mood for some racing, but nope, nothing. 8 laps of Mosport in the VTS, 6 laps at Oxford in the street stock from which I'm still dizzy (I left with a 17.94 lap and no understanding of how a quick lap around there should work), then the discovery that I still have no feel at all for how that MX-5 behaves.

I ran 1:20.8 at Mosport and while the lap wasn't anything like perfect, it felt racy enough - I thought I was attacking the track, the car had a strong front end and it didn't mind trail braking as long as everything was done carefully - but it just didn't get the juices flowing. Tiredness is next on my list of excuses so I'll try again over the weekend...

I've got back to school nights with the kids at 2 separate schools, so I have no idea if I'll be able to get back in time or not.

Sorry I didn't make it, Don. Spent time showing my boys the ropes of Madden 13 and lost track of time watching them have fun.

It ended up being just Don and I. The Legends were fun, but with only two there wasn't much going on. The Cadillacs at Infineon were a different story though. that is a really nice track for them, with the hills and hard braking making for many a pucker moment. We were pretty close through most of the race until Don lost it with two laps left.

Don, hope all is well with you. Did I miss the 6th week, or did this just suddenly stop? I looked the next Thursday and didn't see anything, and nothing since. I guess I couldn't blame you if it's only 3 guys showing up from week to week, though. I've been spending more time lately in iRacing, so just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I've been iRacing more often lately, too. We need to race the Radical sometime on a road course. One of the most enjoyable, underrated cars in iRacing. Quite fun to chuck around. :)
