I haven't had any problems at all connecting except for that first night and it was down for about 15 minutes.

Having a blast with this game...much more than the first even.

They are really taking alot of potshots at MW2 with the conversations in this game, and it's hilarious.

Last night, I'm at a section where we've come across three 4 wheelers, and take off. At one point, Sweetwater says something about how they feel kinda like snowmobiles. Someone else snickers "Snowmobiles? Snowmobiles are for pussies!"

At the very least, the SP of BC2 is at least cohesive and resembles a story, rather than a series of random events. It's fun, it's not as 'on rails' as MW2 is, and...

...well, I should have my connection restored tonight, so I can FINALLY take this sucker online. :D

I was online playing Squad DM for about an hour last night and it was a blast. First squad to 50 kills is the winner. Very fun.

Maps aren't too big for a reasonable team DM?

They are maps specific for TDM. They're the same locales but totally scaled down.

I feel stupid for even asking this but how in the hell do you kill the sniper overlooking the river. I crouch and move up and knife him but I keep getting caught. I have no idea what i am doing wrong.

I just knifed him, then took his sniper rifle and killed everybody in the camp. If you can't even get up to knife him, make sure you're crouching down before approaching him, and moving slowly.

Actually, I have no idea if that's even the right spot...don't recall a river there.

I have got right up to him, crouched and knifed him and after I kill him the signal flares go off.

Weird.

The quote about not calling back in to HQ because they'll just end up sending some spec ops pussies in with heartbeat sensors on their rifles had my chuckling out loud.

I gave that a try the other night and it is definitely a step up intensity-wise :)

What's the story with Hardcore mode? I haven't been able to put the game in since that Tuesday when we played together. Fill me in!

Finished the campaign mode. Awesome game that ended way too short IMO. The ending left a sour taste in my mouth with how abrupt it was, but this game was made for multiplayer so I can't hold a grudge.

No map and a very limited HUD. There is an icon over your squadmates. You can only see the enemy with the naked eye :)

So it doesn't change the damage profile at all, or the ammo or any of that? It's just about removing the HUD aids? Sounds pretty cool, but I think I'd like to keep the map for a little while until I get more used to the different ... maps (for lack of a better word).

I we ever do get private games going, it could be really fun that way, though.

Finally got my internet up and running again, and, oh my...I love MP. The one demo map was growing old on me, but it's not even close to the brilliance of some of the others I've played since then. I've had a ball in every single mode I've played. Haven't played hardcore at all, but I intend to soon.

I'm completely up for the next poker night, and we need to get a full slate of guys in a room. This game is badass...

Finally managed to get in a few hours in the early afternoon the past few days and after a bit of acclimatization I'm really enjoying the multiplayer.

I think the biggest factor in multiplayer is having a good squad - regardless of how well the overall team has done my most enjoyable games have been those when I've had a solid squad of like-minded players who stick together and communicate. Of course, the other side of the coin is when you`re with a squad of idiots then it can be frustrating.

I think I`ve also found my niche as a Medic - I love the defibrillator and had a blast this afternoon as the support player for my squad not only throwing out healing kits but bringing players back to life. We were able to maintain an offensive line and really dominate the match. I even managed to zap a guy in the head with the defibrillator which was hilarious. :)

I don`t know how the matchmaking works but if we could get some DSP squads going it would be a blast.

EDIT:
The UAV is also a guilty pleasure - I love calling in an air-strike to take out some heavy armor. :D

When playing hardcore how do you tell who is on what team then? It's not like CoD where the opposing force is wearing a different uniform. Not that I can tell anyway.

There is an icon or name above your squadmates. Enemies have nothing over them.

Zep, not sure on the stuff you asked about. All I know is there is no HUD and it is scary :)

I finished the campaign a couple nights ago. I liked it alot. Better than the first SP campaign, although I DID like the Kelly's Heroes storyline from the first.

I liked that they left the storyline open for the sequel, and that we're not done with B Company just yet. I like those guys!
