Nice on reaching the game, how did Jose look? Along with Bosh, he should make the all-star game this year. Bosh has come a long way in his time in Toronto. His game just keeps evolving. Too big for smaller PF's and too fast for bigger PF's, match-up problem for most of the league. JO is still trying to get his timing and rhythm after being injured for most of the last 3years. I'm hoping he can find some of his all-star form. But if he can just provide some scoring punch, rebound the ball like we know he can, and be the defensive presense our team has lacked since the franchises beginning, we could see the 2nd round... If we continue to get beat off the dribble and killed on the boards, it will be another 1st round loss.
Bosh is similiar to ATL's Josh Smith. But I think Bosh has a better jumper, but both present matchup problems for the opposition. When
Smith plays above the rim, there's noone more exciting to watch in the NBA.
I'll take Bosh over Josh Smith and his horrendous shooting percentages any day of the week. How on earth, a guy like Smith can only shoot 45% is beyond me. Dude should be able to get to the rim anytime he wants with that athletic ability.

I agree. But for some reason he loves to take jump shots. He'll hit one 3 and then miss the next 5. He shoots 25% from 3-land, but that hasn't deterred him. He is a coaching nightmare, but you put up with him because of his crazy mad skills. He is probably the best shot blocker in the NBA right now and he gets fantasy stats to die for every night.
I'm a big time Celtics homer (27 years and counting) and am happy with the win, but c'mon - show up at tip off once in a while. First 33 minutes tonight they were lethargic and apathetic; 15 minutes to go and BOOM. I had no doubts at the end of the third they were going to win, but they should not have to play lights out at the end time and again.
I was surprised to see Bosh seem so listless out there, as he's been as good as anyone to start the season. I think O'Neal going off in the first half kept Bosh from getting into the flow of things. He barely touched it in the fourth.

This is the C's 5th game in 7 nights. Played last night too.
Kinda surprised they where able to come back from 15 against a very good Raptors team. Pierce went off in the 4th after a horrible start.

Can't wait for the Hawks/Celts Wed. Unfortunately, Boston gets us on the backend of a 2 games in a row and in Boston, no less! Wonder if they will still boo Bibby?

I f they boo Bibby I'll laugh. C's fans don't let stuff go, so it is possible (my friends and I hate Louisville just because of Pitino). Should be a good game, though I wish Josh Smith was playing - he and Garnett are a fun matchup.

Too bad it takes an ass whoopin to get the Suns fired up. But yeah...TMac went flying! Good stuff.
Nash looked like he was trying to break it up and tripped. McGrady is a b*tch for pushing him. I loved seeing Shaq push McGrady to the floor.
Damn man I really hate the Rockets. I'd like to see the Suns go on a run. Why did they take away Nash's three?

Pierce was clutch again, this time at the buzzer.
Hawks look pretty good.
Hawks were unconscious from deep, which balanced out them not having Josh Smith. They played very well, and match up against the Celtics at most every position (though why the C's don't feature Rondo blowing by his man more than once or twice a game I'll never know). Pierce played nearly the whole game yet again, but still had the legs to get to the hoop in the fourth and to elevate for that final jumper.

Great game to watch.
The Hawks are definitely a different team than the one that got blown out in Boston in last season's playoffs. I bet Pierce misses that same shot 7 of 10 times. I thought the refs were horrible calling ticky tack fouls the entire game. Boston then started playing to get fouled instead of trying to make shots. Pierce gets a fingernail on him and WHISTLE while Joe Johnson gets mugged in the lane and no call. Horford's early fouls were such B.S. and ultimately became the difference in the game.
Can't wait till we get the boys from Beantown here in the ATL! We were dead even with the defending champs in their house and I am proud of the way they played.
dbdynsty25 wrote:Didn't get the shot off in time...and the Suns just looked BAD tonight. That's not a good sign at home.
They have looked BAD the past few games, except the one where they shot 63% from the field, but even in that game there were turnovers all over the place.
This season, the Suns offense has had 2 outcomes: Missed shot or clueless passing/turnover. Nash doesn't seem to be making plays like he has in the past, in fact, it reminds me a little of how Kidd played late last season with the Mavs. It hasn't been pretty, and I'm not sure how they can right the ship.
I am fairly confident that they will get it sorted out. The problem is a new offense that relies on the post...which I'm not sure I agree with. So instead of the free flowing Suns we're used to seeing, we are watching back cuts to get Shaq, Diaw, or Amare the ball down low. It is completely different for them to play that way and the turnovers are the biggest indicator that it's not that easy to switch offenses on the fly. So here we are...having to work through it at the beginning of the year. The good news is that they haven't played a really good game from beginning to end and they are still 5-3. It could be worse.

I guess our respective fandom glasses were in full effect - I thought in the fourth quarter the Hawks were getting every call; Bibby kicks Rondo in the crotch to draw a shooting foul, Pierce's clean block on Johnson that they called a foul (his follow through got Johnson's hand after he knocked the ball away), and the mystery loose ball foul that they switched from Pierce to Powe. Horford didn't foul out, so blame his playing time on the paranoia of the modern NBA coach (how often do guys sit with two early fouls and end the game with four? It means the team definitely loses what they player contributes versus possibly losing him to fouls). I think the calls probably balanced out it the end, but it was not well officiated by any means.
Though I have to say, Pierce hits that 6 or 7 out of 10 (he's historically clutch at fall-aways at the buzzer); Horford gave him too much space because he was afraid of the drive. Kobe's shot last night, on the other hand - 2 out of 10 tops.

Hawks coach Woodson is the worst when it comes to fouls. If you get 2 early fouls you will automatically come out and sit until the 2nd half. Nobody on the Hawks EVER fouls out, but he sticks to this ultra conservative approach. It drives Hawks fans crazy.

I hope you're right. I'd rather watching the Suns be a fun, rather than painful, experience:)

Yeah. I think the Nuggets got the better of this trade. Even though the Pistons managed to prevent the Lakers from having a perfect season, I'm not sure what lies ahead for AI and company.
I just don't like it when you trade a player to make the salaries work out, then the receiving team waives him so he can go back to his original team (like McDyess will do this year).
The NBA should put in a rule where if a player is traded away from his team, the only way for him to get back to the same team is another trade - none of this waiving business. Otherwise, he'd have to wait until the following year to be re-signed.
