And they still don't answer everything.
You're crazy. ABC ran Alias for 5 seasons and that show never gained more then 4 or 5 million viewers and it's story jumped around much more then Lost.
He really, really is.

not to mention the kinds of things said by the creators about it not being sci-fi and everything having a plausible explanation.
This is why most people have a problem with the show. Good luck finding this original quote, but some people say it has been refered to incorrectly. What I mean is as far as I know the creators said everything has a plausable explanation and is based on science.

But people who defend the show say the actual quote was everything has an explanation that can be based on science or what we know as the paranormal or some such non sense like that.

They should have never said that and life might be easier for them :)

Gotta say, I really liked that episode.

"Who the hell are you?" to Nikki... priceless.

So next week's connection. It's gotta be Jack and Claire being brother and sister, right? People have been surmising that for a while now.

Love the look of next week's 'alarm system'. More Prisoner/Dark Tower-esque weirdness.

I got a fever............and the only cure is more Sayid.

I love that character. "He is one of them. And i am quite sure he is not alone." Awesome delivery.

I don't want to get my hopes up but last night got me pretty geeked for the stretch run here.

I did find the exchange about finding the ping pong table interesting. "It must have ended up in the jungle when the hatch exploded."- Hurley. "I thought the hatch imploded?"-Sawyer. Hmmmm.

Anyone catch that line by Locke when the Russian pirate had him? He said something like "He needs me alive", or something to that effect. What does that mean?

Last night had more action, and it did feel like it helped to move along the story. I'm still drowning in all the unanswered questions and mysteries, and that is holding me back from being too excited about Lost this season. This episode was an improvement, but there are still soooooo many questions, and hopping around between sets of characters just drags them out longer.

I believe he just said...to Sayid, "shoot him, if he was going to kill me he would have already done it." Something like that.

But right after that he made another comment along the lines of "he needs me alive". That's the part that was confusing.

The others must be really brainwashed for them to rather be killed than lead outsiders to their camp. And Locke is now two for two in blowing up stations, maybe he is "the one" who is going to end up blowing up the whole island and end the dharma initiative. :)

So the point of Sayed's back story was that he'd decide to keep the Russian alive (until he tries to kill himself by going into the electrified fence from the previews)?

Oh and no matter how well he cooks, he needs to at least wear a hairnet.

It was simple math. 1 gun pointing at Locke and a gun on each of the others. If he killed Locke they both would die. 2 for 1. That's all he meant.

Last night's episode wasn't the greatest but it looks like next week will be good with Kate, Sayid and Locke at the others camp with Jack and we'll finally get to see exactly how Locke ended up in the wheelchair.

That was some good television last night, I thought! Even my girlfriend got sucked in, and she sort of hates this show. Of course that meant I had to stop the DVR every five minutes to fill her in on the backstory of every character.

I thought the Locke episode was good as well, one of the best of the season. But it still won't do anything for the people looking for answers on a silver spoon. Whats the box? Who is the man from Tallahasee? etc. etc.

If Ben is to be believed no one can find the island if they don't have communications with the outside world, and the sub was the last way off. So now what?

Plus scenes from last week make one of the Losties look like another plant from the others and if it is who I think it is, then it will just not be believeable.

I'm enjoying the ride since they have come back from break, but if there goal was to change the formula to appease the 10 minujte attention span crowd, they aren't doing a very good job.

I think that was one of the best episodes of the season, if not the best. It will be pretty interesting to hear how Locke's father just showed up out of seemingly thin air. I can only imagine the types of things that he wants to do to him.

I was just wondering, whatever happened to Bernard and his wife?

I agree.

I'm pretty sure they were on the submarine. :)

My girlfriend's uncle does the SAP voice for Bernard, so I'm sure he's asking the same question.

Definitely my favorite episode of the season. Seeing Locke's father in the box had my wife and I gasping.

Good stuff. Locke is still one of my favorite characters. I still don't get why Jack was tossing around the football with the others like he was their buddy. Making a deal with them to get off the island is fine...but I didn't get the whole buddy buddy-ness that was going on. Still a very enjoyable episode.

That ep. was a lot of fun. We had a flashback that was directly relevant, in terms of plot, to the current goings on! Oh my! And what's the box? What's with papa Locke showing up? As far as I am concerned, it's the creators/ writers finally giving up the ghost on the 'everything will make sense in real terms; this isn't a fantasy show' BS.

Beyond surfing channels seeking some scenes with some of our favorite missing characters, particularly Bernard and his wife, I am still wondering what happened to Walt and his pops on their little trawler. I don't think the sub is the only way out, I think that it's the only way in, because we haven't been shown that Walt and Dad are lost at sea, or have returned to the island Desmond-style in a mobeus loop of ocean currents and wind. But who knows? We haven't seen them arrive safe and sound back in the reality-based world, either.

Locke's question about electricity was a cogent one, and yet remains unanswered. If there is electricity, there must be a generator; if a generator, there must be fuel. And so there must be men who maintain and operate the generator and fuel it, and those who refine the fuel out of whatever raw resource it is created from. Hmm. Or maybe they'll just make something up about wind energy or something, or big cables under the sea, or perhapse there is a massive array of solar panels on the third side of the island.

But, this was a really good ep., no doubt. A fun, adventuring, exploring type of episode, and the big reveal in the flashback was a brutally wonderful surprise. The relationship between Locke and Ben/ Henry has always been interesting, so this was good stuff. As is the relationship/ dichotomy between Locke and Jack, which was really brought to life in that little shot/ reverse shot of close ups between them at the end.

Even as messed up as Locke is by what's happened to him, why would he screw over others by destroying the sub?

Because if Jack gets off the island, only a matter of time before they're rescued.

So now, Locke is some kind of Luddite who scorns Ben for having a fridge.

I think it's just as simple as the fact that he wants to keep being able to walk. Ben talked about it and I think he nailed it: Locke is afraid to be rescued, because he can now walk, thanks to the magic powers of the Island. A selfish act, to be sure. But it's not out of his character to do things he wants that he knows will or may have a big effect on other survivors, such as first insisting on inputting the number, then insisting on not inputting the number, blowing up the communications station, and so on.

Totally unrelated to Lost but tonight was the season finale for BSG and as usual the end was great (if not a little predictable). It's a shame we will have to wait until 2008 for the best show on TV to return. It's also too bad that more people don't watch this show because it is "sc-fi"
