It's going to be an interesting 4 years. Does Obama govern as the centrist campaigner or the liberal of his senate record and background? Does the relatively liberal composition of Congress, as bereft of moderate Democrats as any in decades, run the risk of further alienating an electorate that's still center-right, or has the electorate shifted to the left?
I've got my suspicions, but I'll let the majority sow their oats for now.
My prayers tonight will be for the new President-Elect.
Edit: OK, I have to make one snide remark. I hope Leni Riefenstahl brought enough cameras to cover Obamapalooza in Grant Park.

Minnesotans are a very inclusive bunch!
Indeed. And further proof that all things in politics are fluid.
All the more reason for the Obamanistas to dance the night away. Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you govern.
Totally random thought. Somebody should give Karl Rove, Jim Carville and Jeff Greenfield an hour show on Sunday mornings. No guests. Just discussion. 600 talking heads on TV, and these are about the only 3 who are consistently interesting, funny and insightful.

I'll give you the advice that helped me the past eight years: Start drinking, heavily.

That's not socialism, Paul. It's just extra-friendly government that's on your side.

A bit too friendly...Forget buying guns and water...get ky.
On the bright side of things we get to enjoy watching all these new young voters become disenchanted and disappointed over the next four years until they're shrivelled up cynical old bastards like the rest of us. So I got that going for me.
Brando, thanks for the advice. Who knew that all of my excessive drinking had been training for this very point in time? It's good to be able to put it all in context.

No election, of any person for any office in any city, state or nation, can make a winner out of you.
Here I come to make a post about how this moment is overwhelming, even for a fervent Obama critic and doubter, and you serve up a beautiful reminder of the fact that no matter how we grow as a nation we'll always be limited by the least among us.
Nevertheless, this is still a powerful and awesome moment in our political history.
